On Thursday, July 4th, 2024, our brave military will soar across the South Carolina skies once again for Salute From The Shore's 15th annual Fourth of July celebration.

Patriotic beachgoers will be dazzled with planes from across the state, featuring F-16s from McEntire Joint National Guard Base (provided by the 169th Fighter Wing), C-17s from Charleston Air Force Base, and privately-owned vintage aircraft.

The plane flight path will span the length of South Carolina’s coastline. At 1 PM, F-16s
and C-17s will make their way down the coastline, beginning at Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach and ending around the Bluffton and Hilton Head Island area in the Lowcountry.

Progress! Myrtle Beach's new kayak launch is coming along nicely at Thunderbolt Park. The ramp leading to the water is nearly finished, and the dock construction is not far behind. The floating dock will extend 16 feet offshore. We expect the kayak launch to open the third week of May, weather permitting. In the meantime, please avoid the walkway behind the construction area, as it is currently closed. Prepare to BYOK (or paddleboards) to Thunderbolt Park, 2290 Farrow Parkway, and enjoy some time outdoors!

Winter Wonderland at the Beach features more than 100,000 holiday lights that spans a mile-long light display stretching from Plyler Park to Second Avenue Pier along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.
