Goodnight from the Pryor horse range! We watched Xacara getting a case of the zoomies earlier from across the valley. Lots of horses seen so far. Now I tucked in snug as a bug, thunder rumbling off in the distance but she's moving in quick. The moisture will be nice! Night night everyone!

Hello Hello!! I'm back and am looking forward to posting more regularly now! Let's start with one of the most recent foals born to Victoria who is in Quaid's band. formerly He Who/Horizon's band. Victoria herself is barely a 2 year old but seems to be doing very well. Those long legs are flashy with lots of white so she won't be hard to identify in years to come. What a cutie!

Who wants to go camping with me on the Pryor Mountain? If you love the outdoors and exploring new places and things where there's an abundance of wildlife to include a unique, historical herd of wild horses, then LET'S GO CAMPING!!! 😃 You can sleep under the stars with the very first protected herd of wild horses in the United States and where Cloud the Stallion once roamed.

Truth be told, I had my permit towards the end of the summer months last year and boy did I hustle to dot all the I's and cross all the T's!!! I only managed to bring a group up in August, but a great time was had by all even though the weather was a bit rough on us that week. lol

There will be endless photo opportunities of the beautiful surroundings and the wildlife that live there, plenty of hiking as our shoe/boot of choice will be our mode of transportation once we get up there and settle in. But don't worry! You could just as easily sit at camp and watch the horses pass you by as they head for their afternoon sip from the snow fed water hole or Krueger's pond during the hotter months. There are a few photos on the website to give you an idea of how some of the terrain is at the top of the horse range where we'll be setting up camp. And contrary to the photos I shared, there ARE wild horses that live there during the summer months!🙂 They retreat to the shade of the limber pines during the hottest hours of the day with the exception of the occasional band grazing as they meander in the same direction. You are just going to have to come see for yourself! Bring your camera and some friends and let's go camping!! You won't be disappointed!

Felina, born in 1998, is looking really good right now!! I was fortunate enough to spot Oro's band on middle Sykes a couple of weekends ago while on a long hike. Several of us have been wondering where they could be, since they're normally found mainly around the Turkey Flats area through the winter months. At least they've been seen now!
