Matt and I celebrate 38 years of marriage today! 🥂💍
Looking back on our journey together, we can truly say that it’s been an incredible ride—filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of adventure.
Raising a large family was one of the greatest joys of my life, but there was (and still is!) nothing like taking time for just the two of us. Some of our best memories have been made while snorkeling, canoeing, cave rafting, and even cave jumping. My biggest piece of advice for couples?
✨ Don’t wait until the kids are grown to start traveling together. ✨ You’ll never have “enough” money or time—just do it. ✨ Your marriage deserves more adventures than just raising kids!

Welcome to the Weekly Round-Up! Typically we love brining you insider tips and tricks, as well as a weekly round-up of some really great vacation deals! However, this week is a little different because today is my 38th wedding anniversary, and it's the last day of February. So that calls for something a little different. ☺️

This week’s newsletter is extra special because today, Matt and I celebrate 38 years of marriage! 🥂💍

Looking back on our journey together, we can truly say that it’s been an incredible ride—filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of adventure.

How It All Began…

We met in the most everyday of places—a restaurant called Omega Drive-In. Matt worked at Midas Muffler, and I would meet him at the three-foot wall outside where we’d share a kiss. He is my Midas Man, and I am his Omega Girl—titles that have stuck with us all these years! ❤️

The Start of Our Travel Love Story

Our first trip together was to San Diego, where we fell in love with the beach, the ocean, and exploring new places. I, having grown up in California, already had a deep love for Disney (I mean, I went at least twice a year!). Matt, on the other hand, didn’t get to travel much as a kid, except for trips to Yellowstone and Las Vegas. But once we started traveling together, he jumped in with both feet—even braving roller coasters with me despite absolutely hating them! That’s when I knew it was true love.

Travel Adventures as a Family

As we started our family, our love for travel only grew. From Disneyland with our kids to summers spent visiting different states and even mission trips to Paraguay and Brazil, we always found ways to create meaningful experiences.

Then came our first cruise—an anniversary trip that completely changed the way we traveled. We caught the cruising fever and have now been on 11 cruises together! There’s just something about a cruise—the ease of having everything included, the ability to relax and explore new places without worrying about getting lost (which, let’s be honest, happens a lot when we road trip!).

One of our most memorable cruise moments? That time in Puerto Rico when we got caught in a torrential downpour. Buckets of rain were coming down, and by the time we made it back to the ship, we were completely soaked—but laughing the entire way.

The Importance of Traveling Together

Raising a large family was one of the greatest joys of my life, but there was (and still is!) nothing like taking time for just the two of us. Some of our best memories have been made while snorkeling, canoeing, cave rafting, and even cave jumping. My biggest piece of advice for couples?

Traveling with Our Grandkids

Now that we’re grandparents, we’ve been able to experience the magic of travel through a whole new lens. There is nothing like seeing the excitement on our grandkids' faces when they walk through the gates of Disney.

This November, we’re setting sail on our first Disney Cruise with two of our granddaughters and their parents. I cannot wait to see their faces when they first see the ship, meet their favorite characters, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Why We Started Our Travel Business

Over the years, people started asking us: “How do you travel so much? How do you book everything?” And the truth is, we made travel a priority—just like we do our marriage.

We launched Breathable Moments Travel in 2020 to help others experience the joy of travel, just like we have. I love the planning process, and I remember how helpful it was to use a travel agent for our first cruise. Now, my greatest joy is when my travelers come back and tell me, “That was the best trip ever!”
