JUST BOOKED: A new client/couple reached out to book their first ever river cruise. They will be doing the Rhine River with 2 days in Paris afterwards, and I couldn't be happier for them. Of all the cruises I have booked, I have booked more Viking than anything else. The service and amenities are top notch and I know they will be in great hands for their first cruise. This is also proof that it's never too early to start planning your spring travel as they just snagged the last room on the ship and they don't even travel for 6 months. JUST BOOKED (and traveled): A 50th birthday took one of my clients/family's to Cabo San Lucas. They traveled home today. I was in touch with them throughout their trip and they said they had the best time. They took a boat ride in a glass bottom boat and enjoyed the All-Inclusive resort on one of the only swimmable beaches in Cabo.
Hurricane Milton caused my other clients to pivot from FL to Cabo, and based off my (current) clients feedback from Cabo, we got this family booked at the same resort. So glad they reached out to me so I could help them change their FL plans. It's been a busy few weeks for Way Maker Travels and I wouldn't want it any other way. JUST BOOKED: While I've been quiet on social media, I've been busy behind the scenes. Just today, four very lucky couples booked a US cruise from Amelia Island FL to Charleston, SC with some amazing stops along the way. They will get out of the freezing March temperatures of the Midwest to enjoy 10 days in the southeast. How fun for this group!

JUST BOOKED: So thankful my clients reached out about planning a trip for them. K and B had flight credits that had to be used, and they were at a complete standstill on where to go. They took my suggestion of Costa Rica and are staying at the most incredible 5-star property. They have been so great to work with as they know what they want and trust me to take all the hassle and headache out of it for them. I will handle all the planning, research, reservations and transportations. All K and B need to do is pack and show up at the airport.

...And the first group is off!!!!! Today is the start of a VERY busy July for me as I have 6 cruises this month. My clients are off to Alaska, and I couldn't be more thrilled as this has been a long time coming for them.

JUST BOOKED: Just booked my clients on a 7-day Alaskan cruise. They will have stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria, B.C. They'll be able to see the Glaciers and the Inside Passage as well. My family and I took this identical trip in 2011 and it was incredible! This feedback means the world to me!!! I have clients in Rome right now and I’ve thought about them everyday that they’ve been gone. I checked in with my client today and got this feedback which literally brought tears to my eyes. This client was an absolute dream to work with. She knew exactly what she wanted and asked me to make it happen. If you ask me, we made a great team during the planning process because I love working WITH my clients to create their dream vacation. I love they are having the time of their lives making incredible memories as a family. I couldn’t be happier right now and I feel so honored to have gotten this feedback.

JUST BOOKED: I am always so thankful (and honored) when my clients refer me to their friends and family. It truly means the world to me when I am entrusted to book dream vacations, and I can't believe I get to do this for a living. My clients who booked back in March sent family my way to get them booked on the same holiday cruise. Not only was I able to get them booked on the same sailing, but I managed to get them all rooms near each other and was even able to get my clients from March better pricing while I was at it! I love when things like that happen, and it's just one of the MANY reasons why it's beneficial to use a travel agent. Where ya headed next? I can help get you there!

Between my “hobby job” and Way Maker Travels I worked over 10 hrs today yet I feel like I didn’t work at all. How did I get so lucky to have not one, but two jobs I absolutely love?!?! Six months ago I was stuck in a mind numbing job I absolutely hated. There was one bonus to the job and that was if I was “cool enough” to “get” to go. Now, I’m not only “cool enough” but I’m appreciated, promoted and depended on at B*W. And well, Way Maker Travels is the biggest dream come true. I get to help my family, some of my best friends, and even total strangers plan the coolest vacations and they trust me to do it!!! 😮
This is a perfect lesson for me that when I trust God and take a big leap everything works out better than imagined. HE always knows what HE’S doing.
In 3 days Brooke and I leave for Belize on our mission trip with her school. If I stayed in my last job I would not have been granted the time off to experience this with her. Spring training in AZ wouldn’t have been approved or my anniversary trip with Brian, which have been two of my greatest highlights of the last year. Today is one of those days where I’m pinching myself (happens at least once a week) and I’m wondering how I got so dang lucky?!?!
And not to be cheesy but Brian Schaefer deserves a big recognition in this post too because he allowed (and encouraged) me to say “oh hell no” to the BS and lies that were slung at me at my last job and allowed me to walk away from it and pursue this dream. Maybe next time I won’t wait 5 years to think about and act on my dreams. Time is a beautiful gift 💝

JUST BOOKED: I am honored that my clients trusted me to book them a journey through Rome. They are staying at THE MOST beautiful hotel I've ever seen right outside the Vatican City. They will see the Coliseum, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and the Spanish Steps. They will have a day trip to Capri and another one to Orvieto. This is going to be one incredible journey for this family, and I am absolutely HONORED they are allowing me to book it for them.

JUST BOOKED: I love when my clients can turn their business trip into play. My new clients have to be in London for a 4-day work conference, so they decided to take a 7-night river cruise beforehand. This cruise will take them along the Danube River through Germany, Austria, and Hungary where they will see some unbelievable scenery. If they need to escape from the (only) 190 passengers on the boat, they can do so in their Explorer Suite and Veranda Balcony Staterooms. How incredible are these staterooms you guys?!?! Time to say I'm officially jealous 😀

JUST BOOKED: My client took advantage of this incredible offer by Royal Caribbean and booked her family on one of the largest cruise ships in the world, Symphony of the Seas. The amenities on this ship are absolutely worth mentioning because they include a 10-deck high zip line, an ice-skating rink, a full-size basketball court, 4 pools, an outdoor theater and world class dining. Oh, and if all these perks aren't enough, they will enjoy stops in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and St. Maarten. This is going to be one heck of a great week for this family.

Hello Spring! I always thought spring started on March 21st, but did you know it changes yearly? This year the first day of spring is today, March 19th. This means we have so much to look forward to, including spring and summer travel. While you need to live in the moment, don’t forget to start thinking about your fall and winter plans, as booking in advance can save you money and stress.

One thing that has become abundantly clear to me these past few years is that time is precious and we are never promised tomorrow. When my kids were young my husband and I became so overwhelmed by all the "stuff" in our home, that we tried our best to abide by the policy instead of giving things. I know this can't always be an elaborate trip, it certainly hasn't been in our world, but it can be tickets to Disney on Ice, Monster Jam, a sporting event or concert, or even tickets to a water or amusement park. No matter what you decide to do, just be sure to make the memories and enjoy the time together, we are not promised tomorrow!

Friends, have you ever seen that meme that says something along the lines of "sometimes I'm amazed at how smart I am, and other times I try to get out the car with my seat belt on"? Well today is one of those days. I got to the airport this morning for my flight and at check in I was advised my drivers license is expired. I said "uhh, I don't think so" in a truly confused and worried tone. She handed my license back and showed me the expiration date. Sure enough, it expired last month on my birthday. You guys, this is legit the only form of picture ID I have on me and I live 30 minutes from the airport. My husband wouldn't have had time to go home for my passport and bring it back to me. So, I go into a full blown panic. She tells me it's okay, I can still travel because I'm not traveling internationally. Oh Thank goodness! That doesn't stop me from stressing though, no sir! I was a nervous wreck trying to get through TSA, I'm surprised they didn't suspect me of hiding something (other than an expired license). I'm so glad this incident happened today as I have an international flight coming up next month. Even though I'd have my passport with me, I certainly wouldn't want to take any chances. So, hopefully you read this entire post and not just the picture and said to yourself
"'well duh Allison". And hopefully you got a good laugh at my expense and you can learn from my mistake. Also, when I got to my gate I tried to renew my license online and the final question asked me if I understood that by renewing, it would invalidate any identification I currently had. This led me to not proceed with the renewal and deal with it when I get home. I'm not the only one these things happen to right? Please tell me I'm not....

JUST BOOKED: Thrilled and honored to book 3 couples on a 12-day trip to see the Christmas Markets in December 2024. Their 8-day river cruise will stop in Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovak Republic), Vienna (Austria), Krems (Austria), Linz (Austria), and Passau (Germany). After the cruise they will have 4 days in Munich, Salzberg, and possibly Prague.

You guys, I have to say I am so blessed I get to do this job every day. It is literally an answer to prayer considering where I was, and what I was doing a year ago. I have no idea how I am so fortunate that friends and family trust me to plan their dream vacations for them. This week has been so busy, and I've loved every minute of it! JUST BOOKED: Helping a friend plan part of her trip to Munich where she is surprising her daughter with tickets to see Taylor Swift in concert. When they aren't being Swifties, this family will be exploring all the beauty and history that Germany has to offer with the tour guide being mom/grandma who grew up in Germany and has very thoroughly planned every detail of where and what she wants to show her grandkids about their heritage.
JUST BOOKED: A family vacation to Oahu, Hawaii to celebrate a college graduation and a 25th wedding anniversary. They will be staying in Waikiki for a few nights and heading to the north shore to stay in an adorable beach cottage that came highly recommended to them by some friends.
JUST BOOKED: A girl's trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. These BADA$$ babes have so much to celebrate including a birthday and a thriving clothing line business. I have known these lovelies for a long time, and I can tell you they are going to have the BEST time. They chose the most amazing resort property because of the pool and the "vibe". This might have been one of the funnest trips (for me) that I have booked to date, and as usual I'm jealous and plotting a way to get in one of the suitcases.

With spring break right around the corner, I wanted to remind my travelers of a few basic tips to keep in mind while traveling.
1- Don't wear flashy jewelry. Infact, I recommend leaving your expensive jewelry like diamond earrings and wedding rings at home. You can easily, and cheaply purchase knockoffs so you have something to wear while on vacation and not have to worry about having yours lost or stolen.
2- This goes without saying but be careful with alcohol consumption. It's always great to sample the local wine, brews, or signature cocktails, but please be careful with consumption so you can still make rational and safe decisions.
3- Only carry enough cash for tips for the day. I suggest leaving the rest in the safe in the room. If you feel your cash is safer on you than in your room, be sure and store it in a small or hidden pocket in your backpack or bag.
4- If you choose to travel with a lot of cash or your expensive jewelry, I highly recommend using the safe in your room. You could even use this to store prescriptions, so you know those are locked up as well.

Today's might be obvious to some of you but I was 40 years old before I figured this out. I would pack black and brown shoes to go with outfits and gold and silver jewelry as well. All of these options would make getting ready for my day difficult. Sometimes . This also frees up not only space in your suitcase, but weight as well, if you are limited to a certain weight limit on the plane or you want to do some shopping on your trip.
