The Elephant Rock in Iceland 🇮🇸
Elephant Rock, located on the island of Heimaey in the Westman Islands archipelago, is a natural rock formation made of basalt rock that resembles the head of an elephant sticking its trunk in the water. The rock's wrinkled, grayish appearance is due to its basalt composition, and it is believed to have been formed during one of Mt. Eldfell's many volcanic eruptions, with the most recent eruption occurring in 1973.

The Eye Of The Earth in Croatia

The Eye of the Earth, officially called the Izvor Cetine, or the Cetina River Spring, is a natural spring at the base of the Dinara mountain range. Similar to a sinkhole, the natural spring is fed by the same underground aquifer that feeds the nearby Cetina River, which empties into the Adriatic Sea.

Depth measures 155 m or 508.5 ft.

Well it’s been a week since we came back from our New England /Canada Cruise. It was 9 nights on Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas. Just putting it out there that on cruises longer than 5-7 days and during school months, the average age of the cruisers is older. That said, we were on the younger side of the other passengers, but there were a few younger families too.
Lots of scooters and walkers. And sorry to say, these people may be older, but they are not always nicer. While the majority of the people where amazingly nice and friendly, I was surprised by the amount of rude and nasty old people pushing and shoving in food lines and amazingly able to get out of a scooter and move faster than me when they wanted too.
1st the ship… Liberty is a Freedom class ship. My 1st cruise was on the Freedom of the seas in 2009 when at the time it was the newest and biggest, so I think I am a little biased in that I love Freedom class ships. The Liberty went into service in 2007 and last refurbishment was 2016. I think its a great ship. Nice size. Enough amenities for all age groups.
The itinerary… Boston MA, Portland ME, Bar Harbor ME Halifax Canada and St Johns Canada. This is a great trip for fall. The colors are amazing and the weather is perfect for walking and exploring.
Most importantly is to book excursions as soon as they are available for this cruise. I was surprised to find that most were sold out at least 6 months prior to sailing. This left me to go against one of my biggest warnings to book with the ship and go find my own outside tour companies. Even then, most where booked up. In St John’s, NOTHING was available except a public bus or private taxi or Uber. Just make sure you use a reputable company and make sure you leave ample hours to return to ship in case of emergency situations
Boston… been there before, all excursions booked ( I wanted duck tour I am a duck tour fiend) so we did a tour of Fenway Park. Not a Red Sox fan but the history is amazing
Portland Maine, have to admit this was my favorite stop. We found a local van tour company. We saw the lighthouses and lots of the area. Then stopped at a local brewery (Lone Pine )and had, wait for it… the most amazing pizza!!!!
Bar Harbor… beautiful area but way to overcrowded. Even. At end of season. Not a single tour available but found a free hop on hop off bus. Saw parts or Acadia National Park. While it was gorgeous, just way to many people. We did find a local brewery that had the best Rum punch ( yeah I skipped the beer) and a $34 lobster grill cheese that was not worth it. lol. Ok been there saw it, I have no desire to go back. Too much too much.
Halifax Is great. The port area has a wonderful boardwalk type of area with everything you can thing of. All very walkable. We also did a duck tour. Surprise right? St John’s. No tours. My friend and I shopped at the port our feet were killing us at this point. Then we went back in the ship and enjoyed the hots tubs sauna and then finished off with a massage. My husband walked miles on his own to see the reversing river. ( we had seen it before) and then found there was a $3 bus.
It was a great mix of busy busy busy and relaxation. Our balconies room was perfect. We slept with the door open every night listening to the waves. The weather was right. No humidity or bugs and perfect sleeping weather
Also did a tour of the ships kitchen and how they prepare and get all done and then a special brunch

Gettysburg Pa is one of my favorite places of all time. The Lodges of Gettysburg does not disappoint. The is one of 28 lodges. This is a North Lodge (WV) and sleeps 8. 1 queen beds room and another with 2 queen beds and the shared living space has a pull out. The combination of 28 lodges, will sleep 45 people. The main building houses reception, spa, dining and party room. The property has a lake for fishing and fire pits. The property as well as the views are breathtaking! https://www.gettysburgaccommodations.com

When you’re also a car service for your customers😁
Ok the customers were my children. But as we pull up to the ship, I remember how I came to name my company. Even though I got off a 15 day cruise just last month, I was envious ( slightly) of them getting on board with out me😂🤣
