Today we head to Bari, the capital of the Puglia region of Italy. The heel of the boot. We're using a lovely masseria as our base for exploring Ostuni and UNESCO World Heritage city of Alberobello with it's famous "trulli". Add in a day trip to Matera with the "sassi" - cave houses dug into limestone rock - also a world heritage site - and our trip promises to be amazing! #love2getaway
It's Sunday and we are on the way to Como - a great base from which to explore Lake Como where empresses, princesses and all sorts of nobles found refuge. It has been appreciated for its' uniqueness and beauty from Roman times and was the inspiration for the city of Naboo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Anakin Skywalker, about Naboo -"If I grew up here, I don't think I'd ever leave." You can see why!
Today we depart for Milan, home of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper. The Duomo in Milan is one of the grandest Gothic cathedrals in the world. Of course we also go shopping at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and maybe even spin on the bull! #love2getaway
