You might have heard that the USA just launched a new weather satellite this week. It has about five months of testing to go through, and should be online sending data to us by the 2017 tornado season in Tornado Alley. Here is a side-by-side comparison of how this system will improve weather forecasting.
#HurricaneMatthew The GFS is forecasting Matthew to do a loop and then come back at the #FloridaKeys. We have officially entered the Twilight Zone.
There is another #tropical disturbance in the gulf, near Key West. You can see it clearly here in this animated loop. There is also a line of convective #storms in the gulf associated with an upper-level feature that will prevent this disturbance from strengthening, at least for now.
OKC weather radar detected birds taking flight and scattering as earthquake hit. Cool!
