Our Story
Owned and operated by David Jenkins and Jeanette K. Rice Jenkins, who purchased the business in 2005, Above the Rest Cabins is one of the original cabin rental companies in the North Georgia/Blue Ridge area. Most of our homes are located in the beautiful My Mountain community in Morganton, just eight miles from downtown Blue Ridge, although we have homes in Mountain High, in Mineral Bluff, as well as one on Thunder Mountain just a few miles from major âmust visitâ attraction, Mercier Orchards.
We live and work on My Mountain; we are physically present, full-time residents of Fannin County and so are here to serve should you require assistance during your stay. Our mission is to provide clean, quality accommodations for all budgets. We have no desire to be the âbig box chainâ of cabin rentals; there are larger companies, and there are cheaper companies, but there is no company that will work harder for our homeowners and our guests. Our philosophy centers around the knowledge that no one will be as invested in managing your property, or attending to your vacation needs, than the owners of the company.
Having vacationed in this area since 1997, we are intimately familiar with the âoff the beaten pathâ places as well as the favorite attractions. Semi-professional photographer, Jeanette, is an avid waterfall and outdoor enthusiast, and is happy to steer you to some of the lesser known spots where you can relax and enjoy solitude, as well as the most popular swimming holes!
All but one of our homes are dog-friendly. Several homes will accept cats. We even have a guest who regularly travels with her conure. We believe firmly in the âtreat others as you wish to be treated,â and will do everything reasonable to ensure your satisfaction.
