Happy New Year!

A massive thanks to everyone who helped make our 15th year in business our busiest year ever!

For those who haven’t booked a trip to Sumatra in 2023, the main surf season is shaping up to be a busy one. Maybe it’s time to consider a shoulder season trip to the Mentawai islands instead, where you’ll have a great chance of scoring waves like "Burgerworld" throughout your trip!

And next year, we promise to post more on social media 🤟😄

Things are looking up 👆for Indonesian travel ✈️
Indonesia could trial a "vaccinated travel lane" in the 1st quarter (by March 2022) says "minister of tousism & creative economy" - that would skip current quarantine restrictions 🙏

Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia's minister of tourism and creative economy, discusses the possibility of waiving quarantine for vaccinated travelers. He says "everyt...

Although Indonesia has been officially open now (with a few caveats) for the last month, good news is that quarantine restrictions are decreasing.

Visitors are only required to quarantine for 4 nights (4 x 24hrs) rather than 8 nights as previously required when Indonesia first opened. In the coming months, we anticipate this to reduce further.

Currently, these are the requirements upon entry into Jakarta:

Fully Vaccinated
Valid B211A Visa (we can help with this!)
Fill out E-HAC
Negative PCR test
Quarantine booked hotel (4 x 24hrs)

After quarantine and a negative PCR test, you're free to go!

Mentawai Surf Camps & Charter Boats (and a whole lot more)

No one knows the Mentawais Islands like we do.

For over 2 decades we’ve travelled to every corner of Sumatra, hand-picking the best camps & charter boats along the way. Our recommendations are based on experience rather than what we’ve read in a brochure. Hopefully our opinion is a stamp of approval that will give you the confidence in booking a trip with us.

Tailor made surf vacations

It’s not easy trying to figure out the perfect surf trip. If you contact a camp directly, lets face it, they’ll tell you what you need to hear because they want your business! At Surf Camp Sumatra we do things differently because we can make suggestions based on your needs thanks to our experiences. Whether you’re after a cheap trip, a family getaway or just looking for some uncrowded surf - then you’ve come to the right place.
