I am thrilled to announce that Wonder Travel Studio is a Top 30 Four Seasons Producer for 2021!

As we all know, the travel industry has been a little... chaotic...since the pandemic hit in 2020. Plans have been cancelled and changed and rebooked, often just to be cancelled again, over and over. Travel planning has been challenging over the past couple of years, to say the least.

Yet despite the uncertainty of the times, my partnership with Four Seasons has continued to grow. It's been a wild few years, and it feels really great to be recognized. I've worked hard, almost doubled my sales, expanded my team to include the incredible , and I'm proud.

Thank you for being such a wonderful partner and brand.

P.S. you're not booking your FS reservations through us, please reach out! As a preferred partner, our complimentary amenities are something you don't want to miss out on!

After being closed for more than a year and a half, Fiji is set to reopen to tourists starting December 1st!

Pictured above is one of my absolute favorite resorts for families - Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort. In addition to the incredible location, amazing food, along with water activities galore, the main reason I adore this resort is because if you're traveling with young kids, you get your own private nanny. For free.

Yes. You read that right. Not only do they have the most phenomenal kids club, but children under 6 have their own full-time dedicated nanny (from 8:30 - 9 pm) every day!!! For kids 6 and up, the Bula Kids Club offers three pools, two water slides, a life-size chess board, a playground, and even a Junior Chef program. It's truly a dream.

Entry requirements for Fiji are still being finalised and will be released in the very near future, but they will likely be similar to the protocols and requirements other international destinations already have in place.

Spring break, anyone?! Let's connect!

I got back from Miraval Austin a few days ago and WOW! What an experience! I had expected a spa getaway, but what I got was so much more. When you arrive they suggest you pick a word as a way to set an intention and honor your time there, and the word I chose was "open." Oh man, was I open! I did things I never thought I would do (from physical activities like a 2 hour challenge course to spiritual things like a chakra energy cleanse) and I just had the absolute best time.

What I love so much about this place is that whatever you need, it offers it. It's the absolute perfect place to go as a couple if you are looking for ways to disconnect from the chaos of normal life and reconnect. If you want a fun girls weekend where you just lounge by the pool with cocktails and indulge in amazing spa treatments all day, it's perfect for that as well. Or, if you're needing some solo R&R time, Miraval is the place. You won't feel weird being there alone, and you'll probably make friends and new connections you never expected. I know I did. I came not knowing anyone and left with new friends.

And the food? Well, it was phenomenal. I'm still dreaming of the cacao avocado cookies I devoured daily.

The Miraval philosophy is "life in balance" and it is all about being more present. I think it's impossible to go there and not leave feeling better and more balanced.

For me, life is still feeling a bit chaotic and uncertain right now (cough cough delta variant, kids, pandemic, etc) so I think this philosophy is more important than ever at the moment. If you think you need some time to just check IN with yourself and check OUT of the craziness, I truly cannot think of a better place than one of the Miraval properties.

If you have any questions, reach out - I'd love to share more about this incredible place!

I recently had a friend book a trip at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui. She booked it herself, and when we were talking I said she should have checked with me first! She told me she didn’t think her trip was “worth it” for me and didn't want to impose so she booked it directly. I told her if she’s staying at a luxury property she should ALWAYS check with me first as I can usually add a lot of value to a booking in terms of upgrades, resort credits, free meals, and sometimes even discounted pricing that’s not available to the public.

She sent me her booking confirmation and ultimately canceled her original reservation and rebooked with me. Here’s why:

WHAT SHE ORIGINALLY BOOKED:

⭐️ Fairmont Suite at Kea Lani for one week (7 nights). Rate booked was “room only” rate so did not include anything extra like free breakfast, etc.

⭐️ The Fairmont suite is the lowest room category and overlooks the parking lot (it’s still a great room, but people are often surprised by this so it’s worth noting).

⭐️ Rate was $713 a night, with taxes and fees the total was $6093 for the week.

WHAT I BOOKED FOR HER:

⭐️ Signature Ocean View Suite for one week (7 nights)

⭐️ My rate included free daily breakfast for two, a value of $100 daily so $700 for the week.

⭐️ The Signature Ocean View is a premium category, located in the center of the resort, on one of the top floors with panoramic views of the ocean. The only room category better than this is the corner suite.

⭐️ Booking direct price: $1181 per night, total with taxes and fees $9839 (no breakfast included)

⭐️ Booking with me total with taxes and fees: $6322 for the week.

THIS IS A SAVINGS OF OVER $3500! When you add in free daily breakfast, it’s over $4200!

For about the same price as she had paid booking directly, she was able to get a room that would have cost her close to $4000 more, plus $100 a day breakfast credit.

TLDR: If you are staying at a luxury property always check with me before you book!

*Please note: this type of upgrade cannot be guaranteed and this is definitely not the case for every booking I do. However, my value add is generally at least $100 a day, and often more!

Are you sick of me talking about Tahiti yet? I'll take a break after this post, I promise 😂

But, real talk - I was not expecting to love it as much as I did.

I know this sounds crazy... how could I not? But as much as I love a good beach vacation, I have always been more of a city person.

I'm not so sure that's the case now. The islands of Tahiti got to me, in the best possible way. I felt more relaxed and and joyful than I had in a long time. The beauty, the people, the pace of life, the food... it just does something to your soul.

Here’s a few reasons why Tahiti needs to be your next vacation:

1️⃣ If you are covid conscious it's perhaps the safest place you can be right now. Their covid rates are incredibly low and they only allow vaccinated travelers with a negative PCR test to enter. All the activities are outdoors.

2️⃣ It is the most beautiful tropical destination I have ever seen in my life. The pictures do not do it justice. The water is so turquoise you think to yourself it can't possibly be real.

3️⃣ It’s incredibly romantic and perfect for couples, but I was constantly surprised by what a great family destination it was! The whole time I was there I kept thinking about how much my kids would love it. I am already planning my return with the fam!

4️⃣ If you like Hawaii but feel like there are too many tourists, this is the place for you! Hawaii gets more than 10 TIMES the amount of travelers per year than French Polynesia does.

5️⃣ It's not just lounging on beaches. You can hike, dive, jet ski, ATV, kayak, paddle board, snorkel through pristine coral reefs, and more! It's just as perfect for the active traveler as it is the beach bum.

6️⃣ You deserve it. We have spent the last year navigating a global pandemic. It's sucked. It's been stressful. Even for people in the best of circumstances, it's been hard. Our nervous systems are fried and we all need a break. French Polynesia is the break you deserve.

If this sounds like it's up your alley, please reach out! I can hook you up at the resorts with amenities and credits, and I know all the best hotels, activities, and guides!

I’ve been exploring the incredible islands of French Polynesia for the past week, and to say I’m obsessed is a bit of an understatement. It is truly one of the most beautiful and magical places I’ve ever been. The people, the food (OHHHH THE FOOD!), the views, the hotels, the overall vibe... it feels like you are in a dream. A really really great one.

I’ll be posting a huge recap of my trip once I’m done, but if you want to see a bit more immediately, go check out my highlight where I’ve saved all my stories! Scroll ➡️

08/05/2021

I had a lot of questions yesterday about the requirements for traveling to French Polynesia. This “new normal” to travel international certainly requires a lot of paperwork and planning, but I’m sure we can agree the payoff 🏝🍹 is well worth it!

Rules for entry:

⭐️ Must be fully vaccinated (both doses) or least 2 weeks out from the J&J vaccine.

⭐️ Negative molecular NAAT RT-PCR test within three days of departure flight. Rapid PCR tests and saliva tests are not allowed, so we’re talking that lovely deep nose PCR test administered by a medical professional. You know, the one that almost touches your brain? Yeah, that one. They are VERY strict on the type of test required, so make sure you get the right one.

⭐️ No travel outside of USA for at least 30 days prior to your trip, so make sure you have no weekend getaways to Mexico planned prior.

⭐️ Approval to travel by the High Commission to the Republic of French Polynesia. Basically, this is a form you fill out online that asks you a million questions and for proof of vaccination. Once this has all been filled out and uploaded you’ll receive a document with your official approval.

⭐️ At the airport, you’ll sign a sworn affidavit stating you have no covid symptoms, etc.

⭐️ Once you land, you’ll be given a rapid antigen test at the Tahiti airport.

⭐️ 4 days into your trip, you will take another covid-19 test. You can do this at your resort, so it’s really not a big deal.

That’s it! Easy peasy, right? 😂

I know it’s a lot of hoops to jump through, but because of those hoops, I feel SO safe traveling. I love knowing that everyone on the flight is fully vaccinated and negative. Masks will still be required indoors in public spaces, and the peace of mind I have leaving my children and knowing that every possible safety measure is in place is invaluable.

Speaking of children.... they are still trying to figure out the rules for kids, since they can’t be vaccinated yet. There should be more info on this soon, but until then, no kids over 5 allowed unless you are willing to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival.

That’s it! I leave tonight so follow for more updates!

Last week French Polynesia officially reopened their borders to fully vaccinated travelers... and I’ll be heading there this weekend! ✈️🏝

This is my first time traveling since March 2020 😱 It is also the longest I’ve been gone from the boys ever, so I’m a little anxious. Mostly though, I am so so SO excited!

All next week I’ll be checking out multiple properties on the islands of Bora Bora, Tahiti, and Moorea, so let me know if there’s anything you are particularly interested in seeing, or if you have any questions!

Iceland has announced that effective today, March 18th, any travelers (even Americans!) who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can enter Iceland and will not be subject to COVID-19 testing or quarantine measures!

As the world slowly begins to reopen, I expect the list of destinations introducing more lenient entry policies for vaccinated travelers is likely to grow in the coming months. So far on the list: Belize, Estonia, Georgia, Guatemala, Iceland, Poland, Seychelles, and Slovenia, and Greece and Cyprus are on the horizon.

Vaccination might not be a free pass, but this news makes me feel hopeful for the future of travel (and for the world)!

Happy Thursday! A few quick updates:

• Hawaii is on track to reopen to tourists October 15th. This date has been pushed back multiple times and there is always a chance that it will be pushed back again, but my partners in Hawaii feel confident about it actually happening this time. You will need to have a negative covid test within 72 hours of departure, and to help with this, United is launching a rapid testing program for passengers out of SF heading to Hawaii.

• Four Season's special 24 hour covid cancellation policy is going away starting October 1st. If there is even a small chance you might feel comfortable traveling in the near future (such as Spring Break) and want to stay at a Four Seasons, it would be in your best interest to book this BEFORE September 30th) to ensure you lock in the flexible cancellation.

I’m starting to see a big increase in domestic travel this past month, and it’s been fun discovering so many amazing places in my own country. I just booked a private ski trip for clients over New Years, and I’m so excited for them. They’ll be spending the week doing completely private cat skiing in Crested Butte - they will basically have the whole mountain to themselves! What an incredible way to ring in 2021! (And fingers crossed for a MUCH DIFFERENT 2021 😂)

New on the blog: Top takeaways from last weeks incredible virtuoso travel week 2020! My favorite is all the amazing new programming that hotels are working on to support remote learning while traveling. Link in bio.

INTRODUCING....⠀

✨ WONDER TRAVEL STUDIO ✨⠀

My new brand and website is (finally) live, and I am so excited to share it with you all!

I'll admit, it feels a bit strange to be announcing this right now. I certainly thought by mid-August things would look a little different, but, well, here we are!

Summer is almost over, kids are going "back" to school (my oldest started Kindergarten today 🤯), and travel - plus life in general - is still pretty uncertain. I don't know when life will get "back to normal" or when borders will reopen for us (if you have a crystal ball, please tell me!). It's a challenging and weird time, and uncertainty seems to be the only thing we can be certain about.

That said, I do know that I'm in this for the long haul, and that eventually travel will return. Whenever that is, I want my business to not only bring your travel dreams to life in ways that inspire wonder and joy, but to also be a reflection of what I stand for.

Without further ado, I would love for you to head over here and take a look at my new site: www.wondertravelstudio.com! It's been a labor of quarantine love, that's for sure, and I'd love to know what you all think!

Cheers to staying safe, sane, and connected. Let's keep the travel spark alive :)

Oh hey! It's been awhile. I certainly thought by the end of June things would look a little different, but, well, here we are 🤷‍♀️ 2020 sure is something.

With travel coming to almost a complete halt these last few months, I wanted to share with you a quick update about what I've been working on. During this weird slow time, I've had a lot of time to think about my business and reimagine what I want it to look like. Helping people travel in ways that inspire joy and wonder lights me up and always will, but I also want to make sure I'm using my role in the travel industry as a positive force for change. That I'm giving back, protecting the world we love so much, and actively working towards a world free of racism and injustice. Easy stuff, right? 😂

With all that in mind, I'll soon be saying goodbye to my current site and launching a new brand identity and completely rebranded website.

More details to come, but in the meantime, here's a sneak peek of the new site. It’s been a labor of love and I can’t wait to share it with you all soon!

⁣Let's play a game where we pretend this is all over and we can travel anywhere we want, and we have an unlimited travel budget! ⁣

⁣You only have 4 nights total to go somewhere from where you live. Your budget is unlimited and assume the weather will be perfect in your destination of choice. ⁣

⁣Taking into consideration travel time from where you live and that you only have 4 days, where would you go?⁣

⁣I’ve had such a fun mental break daydreaming about this...I’ll post my answer in comments :)

Lawbreaker Cocktail - Firmdale Hotels

Another week, another day closer to the "end" of this, whenever that may be! ⁣

In this job I am very fortunate that I get to see a lot of incredible hotels, and one of my all-time favorite hotel collections are Firmdale Hotels.

This past July I spent a few nights at in NYC and it was one of the highlights of my whole summer. I fell completely in love with the property and wanted to live there forever. It was as if Kit Kemp had looked inside my dreams and designed a hotel based on everything I loved. Colorful, bright, feminine, luxurious but still relaxed... I was ready to sign over all parental rights and offer to live in the coat closet just to stay a few more days. My husband basically had to drag me out. ⁣

So, for my next quarantine kitchen adventure, I decided to make a cocktail from the Bar Team at Firmdale's Charlotte Street Hotel. Despite messing up a bit (no surprise there!) and having my five year old son totally call me out at the end, it was SO SO GOOD and almost made me feel like I was actually at a bar and not stuck at home all day every day with two wild and crazy kids. ⁣

Behold, the Lawbreaker cocktail from the Oscar Bar Team at Charlotte Street Hotel.⁣

Hi friends. How are you?

The past few weeks have been surreal. Things change so quickly it is hard to keep up. With travel at a complete standstill, my life - and business - has been turned upside down. I hope you are all safe and managing this challenging time as best you can.

As I try to navigate this new reality from the isolation of my home, I've been trying to figure out ways to stay connected to the world around me. It might not be possible to capture that incredible feeling of in-person connection in this strange virtual world we are currently living in, but everyday I get emails from my amazing travel partners reaching out, sharing news, and most importantly - trying to stay connected.

So, in an effort to stay positive and optimistic and do something new, I'm going to start sharing with you some of the wonderful things I've come across.

For my son's birthday cake, I attempted to recreate a carrot cake recipe from one of my most favorite places, Glenapp Castle in Scotland. Watch the (embarrassing) full video on IGTV.

Spoiler alert: it was delicious and even someone as culinary challenged as myself was able to pull it off. Success!

13/03/2020

Exactly one week ago today my husband and I were drinking beers on a rooftop in Cartagena, Colombia. If our trip had been this week, we would have been denied entry. ⁣

It’s been a crazy few weeks for the world, and incredibly challenging for so many of us. A lot of people and businesses are struggling, and as someone in the travel industry who depends on people traveling... it’s been hard. I’ve been working around the clock to take care of clients currently traveling, frantically adjusting/rescheduling/canceling all of those trips that were scheduled in the next few weeks, and helping my clients make the decisions that are best for them. The uncertainty is scary, and it’s hard not to feel like the world is ending at times.⁣

But... it’s not. We will all get through this. I don’t know when, but I know we will, and I just keep reminding myself of what many of my much more tenured travel industry colleagues are saying, which is “Travel Comes Back.”⁣

I’m in this for the long haul, so I’ll be here and ready for you whenever that may be. ⁣

This will eventually end. Until then, I’m going to snuggle my family and do my best to help flatten the curve and keep this amazing unpredictable world we live in going strong. ⁣

Hugs to you and yours. We are all in this together. Xox.

I was 17 the first time I traveled internationally, and it truly changed my life. Not only was I bit big time by the travel bug - setting me on a path in which I worked hard to create a life that incorporated travel as much as possible - but I felt like I learned more about the world in that one trip than I had ever learned in school (but let me be clear - SCHOOL IS VERY IMPORTANT TOO!). However, leaving the USA, even briefly, transformed how I viewed the world and my place in it. It made me a better global citizen, a more understanding human being, and a more adventurous person. Traveling is not just good for your soul, it's good for the world (and this world certainly needs all the goodness it can get right now!). So let's all do more of it.

Exclusive deal! One of my favorite Wine Country retreats - Carneros Resort and Spa - is offering an early Black Friday deal, with starting rates as low as $350 per night (normally $550)! Whether you’re in search of one last trip to end the year or planning your first vacation of 2020, this is the perfect time to take advantage of an amazing deal. Seriously, I've never seen rates that low here before. Message me for more info.

Earlier this month Disney released their 2021 cruise itineraries for January-May 2021. I have a confession... personally, I am not really a "Disney person." However, my kids are. They looooove Disney. They love Marvel. For example, this is an older photo of my son dressed up as Spider-Man. It wasn’t Halloween. He just likes to dress up and has been obsessed with superheroes for years, despite having never actually seen a Disney Marvel movie.

Since having kids, I've booked a lot of Disney travel and learned a lot about Disney travel.

What I have discovered is that once you have kids, even if you are not really a Disney person (like me), Disney cruises, are, quite simply, AWESOME. The way they cater to kids is phenomenal, and you can drop your kids off at the amazing kids club so that you can go and enjoy adult only activities like wine and whiskey tasting.

The other thing I have learned is that the best time to book a Disney cruise is as soon as they are released. I realize that booking a 2021 cruise NOW might sound crazy, but these cruises sell out quickly, and the prices are lowest upon release. Disney Cruises typically only go UP in price.

If you think a Disney cruise might be in your future, let's chat about options. The new February 2021 Panama Canal cruise is one of a kind and with only one sailing to choose from, it's going to sell out fast.

What are your thoughts about a Disney vacation?

It’s Fall!!! 🍂🍁 Though it might still feel like summer, fall officially started yesterday and I couldn’t be happier. Crisp mornings and warm afternoons, beautiful changing leaves, and the arrival of pumpkin everything just warms my California heart.

Having spent most of my life in a land with no seasons, I didn’t really get to experience a typical fall, so I would always seek it out. If you are looking for the perfect quick and easy fall getaway, look no further than Sedona, Arizona!

Sedona is SPECTACULAR in the fall. Seriously... that picture doesn’t even do it justice. Late September through mid-October is the best time to visit to see the fall leaves change color. It’s a great destination for anyone - families, kids, couples, friends, solo soul searching - and it’s stunning. If you haven’t been, go now!!

What’s your favorite place to visit in the fall?

I was organizing my desk and came across these super cute postcards I was given during my stay at (the AMAZING) . Wishing I was back there right now, but for now I’ll just take St. Thomas Aquinas’ advice. And of course, when you stay at one of the amazing properties I work with, good sleep, a bath, and a glass of wine is pretty much guaranteed!

THANK YOU for showing us such an amazing time and for letting us explore the incredible in New York! Check my stories for more info and tours on these stunning properties!

26/07/2019

Happy Friday! In just a few short hours I’ll be checking into a hotel from one of my absolute favorite boutique hotel brands... Crosby Street Hotel of the AMAZING (if you are not familiar, go look them up right now. They are phenomenal). Follow along for the next few days as I explore this amazing city and check out some of the best boutique properties NYC has to offer (and watch me eat and drink as much possible in 72 hours). Given that it has been an embarrassingly long time since I was last here, I welcome any and all recommendations for food, shows, activities, etc. I have a pretty amazing itinerary already planned but I am always open to changes on the go if you have a must-have for me!

Have you ever heard of the island Siargao in the Philippines? If you haven't, you should, because rumor has it it's the best island IN THE WORLD! (according to ). With pristine white beaches, an unspoiled mangrove forest, coconut woodlands, and more than 15 separate surf breaks, it's a surfer's paradise and water-lover's dream come true. My favorite property is Hideaway... imagine a day spent surfing, lounging by the infinity pool, and then sinking into one of the property's "nestrests" - a futuristic hybrid of a hammock and a chaise lounge that hangs from coconut trees. If you're looking for a dreamlike island destination but want to avoid the typical tourist traps, is the place to be. Have you ever been? What's your favorite island destination? @ Siargao Island, Philippines
