Summer's getting a little busy around here but we want everyone to get their honey! If you need Honey please try to pick it up (or phone a friend to pick it up) on 8/8!

Please note: we have decided to discontinue our egg & chicken business. We will occasionally have stew hens for sale and will send an email & post on Facebook when available.

We have plenty of honey available so we will not be taking preorders. If you would like to pickup more than 4 quarts at a time please reply here otherwise just show up to pick up!

From WebMD: Bee venom is given as a shot for rheumatoid arthritis, nerve pain (neuralgia), multiple sclerosis (MS), reducing the reaction to bee stings in people who are allergic (desensitization) to them (venom immunotherapy), swollen tendons (tendonitis), and muscle conditions such as fibromyositis and enthesitis.

So far my mom is the only one 'brave' enough to try bee stings for healing of her arthritis pain. We'll return with a full report as soon as she's done running all over the yard yelling "I just wanted you to sting my foot!" Which they did...but they didn't stop there. lol

You likely remember a couple of posts where we have a frozen hen drying under a hair dryer and sitting on a heating pad. Our girls get water from the horses' water troughs and sometimes get more than they bargain for...like a swim in the trough. The water can be quite cold and we have to pull a rescue mission to save them from time to time. Thanks to my engineering farmer that will not be the case going forward! We now have steps to help them get out if they fall in!

It's that time of year again; swarm season! Bees get overcrowded and decide to find a new home, they do this by forming a swarm. Luckily Robert caught this one in a tree and shook the limb into a box. Watch the video to see how the bees tell each other where their new home is...
