Kate Whitney Lucey Photography Photojournalist Kathryn Whitney Lucey has been documenting professionally since 1984. In September 2002, she self-published the book Born Newporters.

Her ten years as a staff photographer for the Newport Daily News in Newport, Rhode Island has given her extensive experience as an unobtrustive observer in any situation. Kate specializes in shooting events for both corporate and editorial clients, wedding photography, candid portraiture and stock photography of children and Newport, Rhode Island scenes. e, Zimbabwe and a refugee camp in Belize. In 1990, she began an ongoing project in Jeremie, Haiti documenting The Haitian Health Foundation. Recently, Kate has completed a black and white documentary portraiture project photographing Newporters. This exhibit was shown at The Newport Art Museum from November 10, 2000 until January 2001. Kate Whitney Lucey Photography

Photojournalist Kate Whitney Lucey has been documenting professionally since 1984. Her years as a staff photographer for the Newport Daily News and as a documentary photographer in Newport, Rhode Island have given her extensive experience as an unobtrustive observer in any situation. Kate specializes in shooting events for both corporate and editorial clients, weddings and candid portraiture.

In 1990, Kate began an ongoing project in Jeremie, Haiti documenting The Haitian Health Foundation and the people of the Grand Anse region. Her many trips there include in 1994 when U.S. Special Forces units occupied the country as part of the UN Peace-Keeping Operations and most recently in 2019.

In 2002 Kate self-published the book, BORN NEWPORTERS Documentary Portraits. The book came after her show at The Newport Art Museum of the same name in 2000. Kate has been an adjunct faculty member at Roger Williams University, teaching Photojournalism since 2007.
