UPDATE! SHE IS OK!
She found her own way to safety. Fortunately she was very capable & self-sufficient. She unknowingly was following State Park Maps that show trails that no longer exist and nobody informed her that her hiking plans were not possible without a raft. NOTE: the Woznesenski River trail no longer exists because an overflow channel of the Woz blocks the trail about 3 miles up from Haystack rock, so the entire trail has grown in and disappears between the glacier and this 3 mi point. Nobody informed her that her plans would be impossible without a raft. She did not have a packraft and that is the only way to get down the Woznesenski valley from head of the valley that she accessed from the very sketchy trail from China P**t lake. When she realized there was no trail and could not hike out the glacier river drainage due to cliffs & high water, and was running out of food, she bush whacked up and over a mountain to China P**t bay and borrowed a canoe to paddle to the Kachemak bay Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge. State Park MAPS show trails that disappeared years ago. Always check trail reports and ask water taxis before following the maps. For now check the Friends trail descriptions here:
