Become an Educational Tour Leader!

Since 1980, Scholastica Travel Inc has specialized in school group travel for elementary through high school students. We create customized trips and tours for groups of 20 or more. Our most popular destinations are Washington DC, Gettysburg, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Orlando.

Tour leaders provide commentary in a fun and engaging way while facilitating the logistics of the tour. Tour leaders are provided with an itinerary and are responsible for pacing the group at attractions and scheduled appointments. Tour leaders stay in the same hotel as the group and are with the group throughout the duration of the tour.

Experience working with students from elementary school though high school is strongly preferred.

This is a part-time, seasonal, independent contractor opportunity with the busiest season from March – June. Most tours are 2-4 days in length.

Scholastica Travel Inc is a family-owned and operated group travel business and retail travel agency. Since our founding in 1980, we have specialized in school travel planning services nationwide. We have witnessed first-hand the power of travel to catalyze personal growth, promote lifelong learning, and create lasting memories. Our caring team of travel professionals is committed to excellence and will work with you from start to finish to plan a customized trip that is safe, educational, and fun.

John and Nancy Weir are the founders of Scholastica Travel. They’re teachers turned travel professionals – and it all started with a postcard. The postcard invited John to take his Mount Pleasant High School class to Washington, D.C. John hadn’t been much of anywhere, except maybe to his uncle’s farm. He took that trip and it changed his life. Over the next 40 years, that one trip led to many. Scholastica Travel has been honored to help countless people, like John, experience life beyond their hometown.
