This weekend is a time of excitement yet sadness as friends and family gather together to reflect on how much Brandon Bourbon touched each of our lives.
From the kindness, compassion and love he had for each of us to his crazy silly side that made you laugh and just shake your head.
If he had known how his death would change us all forever, I’m sure he would still be here today.
We cling to the memories and especially of our last days we had with him. I am just so thankful for the heartfelt hug and hearing him tell me he loved me that day before he disappeared.
As I promised, I will make 25 bottles of his favorite wine every year. Now fondly known as BOURB’s BREW!
Forever in our hearts and never forgotten........

Adding the secret ingredient to Bourb’s Brew. It will be ready spring 2019

Franklin Farms and Vineyard

The story behind the label.
April 1, 2016, the last day I would ever see Brandon Bourbon. A day like many others he was at my house hanging out with my son Dylan. He was interested in the vineyard, how to grow grapes and how to make wine. I gave him the short version of how the process went, from planting the vines, the long years of nurturing them until they were able to produce a harvest to the processing of the fruit to wine. He was excited, he wanted to be apart, offering to help me in the vineyard and making the wine. He even took one of my books to learn all he could with plans to come back in a few days, a day that never came. That day he tasted the different carboys of wine I had still aging. One in particular stood out to him, one that he liked the best.
While all his friends and family was gathered at my house reminiscing about the guy we all loved, the events of that day came up.... When I told them of the specific wine Brandon liked everyone wanted to try it.
We then came together to name it...Bourb's Brew.
Ironically a 5 gallon carbon yields "25" bottles of wine. "25" Brandon's number.
Every year I will make one 5 gallon carboy, 25 bottles, of Bourb's Brew in memory of Brandon K. Bourbon. The guy with the infectious smile and the kindest heart!
