Local peeps.
Here is a fun list of things to do this holiday season

For anyone looking for things to do....

Here’s a list:

Lights under Louisville Mega Caverns- The cost starts at 30.00 per carload and they’re open 7 days/week through January 3. This is always a must for our family.

Winter Woods Spectacular- The cost for a standard passenger vehicle is 35.00 and they’re open nightly through January 2. Highly recommended!

Drive through light show in Jeffersontown, KY- This free drive through light event is in Louisville, located in Veterans Memorial Park (10707 Taylorsville Road). The lights will run nightly through December 31.

Gardens Aglimmer on the Waterfront- This self-guided walking experience among illuminated outdoor gardens features a sparkling winter wonderland of swans, snowflakes, deer, Moravian stars, oversized flowers, light bursts, candles, and a multicolor tunnel of lights. Wander the new Beargrass Creek Pathway under icicle arches and a waterfall stream aglow. The cost is 7.00 per person and dates/times will vary.

Rudolph's Run - The Most Fun You've EVER Had In Your Sleigh!- (Various places around Louisville)- The most fun you’ve ever had in your sleigh! Allow several hours and enjoy beautiful light displays all over town! Cost is 20.00 per carload and this event runs through January 2. Our family really enjoyed this one, prepare for a fun evening!

Toyland Christmas- This home display gets better every year. They also raise money to benefit Home of the Innocents. The lights will run 7 nights a week through December 25. (Spoiler alert: if you do Rudolph’s Run you may just pass by Toyland! If you opt out of Rudolph’s run and just decide to stop by Toyland I would also check out Blue's Light Show in addition to the Christmas rollercoaster display at 6907 Green Manor Drive Louisville, KY. 40228.) Note that these are individually owned and operated displays, their hours of operation may vary and some accept donations to help them with their costs or to benefit a local charity.

Winter Illuminations- This illuminated, one mile trail walk takes place completely outdoors so plan accordingly. Hours vary by day and prices start at 9.99 for children and 17.99 for adults.

Up for a bit of a road trip? Consider these:

Christmas in the Park Freeman Lake, Elizabethtown Ky- There is no cost but donations are accepted, runs nightly through January 1. We go every year and look forward to it- it is well worth the drive!

Light up Bardstown, A Holiday Road Trip- Just follow the map of streets glowing with twinkling lights and holiday spirit! In addition, enjoy a special magical holiday wonderland experience on the first and second block of downtown Bardstown. The lights will run nightly 6-10pm through the end of the year and more information (including the route map) can be found online.

Ky. Horse Park's Southern Lights- Named one of Kentucky’s Top 10 Winter/Holiday Festivals and Events by Kentucky Travel and Tourism, Southern Lights is a favorite holiday tradition throughout the Bluegrass and beyond. Southern Lights is a three-mile driving tour of lights that is a joy for the whole family! This event runs through December 31 and tickets are $25 per carload.

Holiday Lights at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY- See a kaleidoscope of sparkling lights and displays that captivate your imagination on a drive through Buffalo Trace. There is no cost for this event which runs nightly 5:30p-9:30p through January 1.

In case you missed it, this week we shared some big news about Walt Disney World Resort, including plans to welcome guests back to the theme parks as part of a phased reopening beginning July 11, pending state approval. We know many of you are

27/05/2020

Walt Disney World has released it proposal for its phased reopening.

With a date of July 11 for Magic Kingdom/Animal Kingdom and July 15 with Hollywood Studios/Epcot.

Masks and temperature screening required for both cast and guests. They will be Temporarily suspending parades, fireworks, and Character meets.

Everyone must have a reservation and no word on the resorts at this time.

I will release more info as I get it. As a mom of a cast member I am concerned. He is concerned. The photos of the 5-6 hour line to get into the World of Disney store with people not social distancing is insane. This is with a virtual que.

The plan also must be endorsed by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and then Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

A fellow travel agent posted the following and it’s worth sharing. ❤ I edited to add some more Info.

“The travel industry around the world has been dealing with the coronavirus since January... an additional 2 full months before it really impacted anyone’s lives here.

And it will be the last industry to start up again since there is now so much fear instilled in people’s minds of being on a plane, a cruise ship, a hotel, or even any crowded space.

My personal travel services are Free. Hotels, Cruise Lines, Tour Packages, Disney, Universal, etc pays me a commission for any travel I book for them. You do not pay for my services.

I want to thank my clients for not only their business, but also the friendships that have developed through the years. We will all get through this and will travel again soon!

**I️ do beg you, when you do decide to travel again- PLEASE use a travel agent. I️ don’t care who, or what company- we're all in the same team. But please use a live person. Do not click a “book” button on a website, ever again. There have been too many people who have booked through third party suppliers such as BookIt, who have gone out of business and people have lost all their money.
Or those who booked with big company’s and then when trouble happened they left them hanging with no where to turn! Protect your money and your vacation investment by using a TravelAgent.**

Did you know I have spent hours and hours and hours for my clients whose trips have been cancelled so they didn’t have to. This is what I do. I help in times of chaos as well in times of fun and planning!

Until we are traveling again ❤️🏖✈️🛳🗺

Update on Disney.
Today they also suspended the Disney College program and are sending thousands of program kids home next week. This is serious and shows Disney is looking out for their cast members as well as the interns. This includes all of the international program students as well. I know many of the DCP kids and parents. I know it must be stressful trying to get flights and transportation scheduled but I know I would want my child home with me instead of so far away if they ended up sick. This is also I am sure to protect Disney. If one of them get sick in the apartment/ dorms I am sure many would end up sick.

I also found out that they are working out how to pay the part time cast members as well( my oldest is a part time cast member and says the union is working it out)

Photo of my son and future daughter in law. Who met on the DCp program and are now both cast members!
