Now and Then: The iconic Ketchikan welcome sign has greeted visitors for decades. 🐟 👋
The original sign from the second photo proudly called Ketchikan ‘Alaska’s 3rd largest city.’ In the late 1970s, the sign was updated to the more modern look you see today, now celebrating Ketchikan as ‘The Salmon Capital of the World.’
🎣 Fun fact: The original sign was actually hand-painted by local artists, and today’s version keeps the tradition alive by featuring local wildlife and fishing scenes! Whether you’re here for the fish or the history, Ketchikan never disappoints!

🦭🌊 Meet the Spotted Harbor Seals of Ketchikan! These playful marine mammals are a highlight of our tours at Walden Rocks. Known for their distinctive spots and endearing faces, spotted harbor seals are expert divers, able to hold their breath for up to 30 minutes while hunting for fish and squid. They love basking on the rocks and can often be seen lounging in the sun or playfully swimming nearby!

We are gearing up for a fantastic 2024 season! We are looking for the right people to fill the following positions:
Deckhand
Tour Guide
Van Driver
Dock Runner
Ticket Seller
Must have a good attitude, be a team player, be able to work varied shifts, pass a UA test, have a good driving record! Your job is to narrate, and entertain our guests, either on our boat or driving around in one of our tour vans. Represent Ketchikan and our business in the Visitors center. Handle credit card and cash payments. Have good computer skills. We are willing to train, guarantee hours, offer competitive pay and offer an end of season bonus to the right individuals!
