Ever wonder what it’s like to reel in a redfish? This Gulf favorite is a thrill to catch and a beauty to behold! Here are a few cool facts about redfish that’ll have you itching to cast your line:

1️⃣ They Get BIG – Redfish, also known as red drum, can grow up to 50+ pounds! The current Florida record is a whopping 52 pounds, 5 ounces.
2️⃣ The Iconic Spot – Most redfish have a signature black spot near their tail. Theories say this is to trick predators into thinking their tail is their head! Sometimes, they even have multiple spots.
3️⃣ Seasoned Survivors – These fish can live for over 40 years, and the older they get, the more coppery their scales become, giving them that classic "red" look.
4️⃣ Great Fighters – Known for their powerful runs and ability to battle, redfish put up a fight even on light tackle, making them a fun challenge for any angler.
