In Northern Namibia lives a tribe known as the Ovahimba. Or simply Himba. Our Travel Designer, Laura, recently visited, learning the ways of life in this relentless desert environment. Congratulations Camp Kala for being added to 's 2023 Hot List! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After opening in November 2022, our very own Travel Designer, Laura, was lucky enough to stay in February! This gorgeous camp is on the oldest natural watering hole in the area (aka lots of wildlife visits!) & has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. It features:
- 4 suites: each with an outdoor pool and wood-fired whirlpool bath
- Top-notch butler service
- A fantastic spa (& gym!)

And if you travel with friends/family, you can have the entire camp with 4-5 adults for the ultimate, private experience!

Meet newest teammates...Annie + Maloo!

Annie is a native Chicagoan who spent time after college living in Sydney and traveling around 🇦🇺 working with a sports marketing agency. While she's moved back stateside, she is excited to visit new spots like Africa, South America, and Hawaii ✈️ In her spare time you can find her sweating it out in group fitness classes 💪 or dancing at concerts and music festivals 🎶

Maloo is Chicago-born, Philippine-raised 🇵🇭 Living in Manila from grade school until after college, she credits her mom as her biggest influence in developing a love for travel: “At a young age [my mom] exposed us to many destinations and cultures. My sisters and I now pass on the love of travel to our children.”

We are beyond thankful to have them as part of our work family 💛

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve is blessed with the greatest biodiversity of any reserve in South Africa. Containing five of South Africa's seven biomes, the plains are home to the famous Big Five as well as a diverse number of more unusual species. The reserve is also a sanctuary for numerous threatened and endangered species.

At the centre of it all is the Great Fish River. A staggering 644 kilometres long, 30 of which run through Kwandwe and provide prime river frontage for lodges and villas in the area, the river is the lifeblood of the reserve. It sustains life and provides water for all the inhabitants both two- and four-legged, acts as an important boundary for animal territories, and flows year-round, providing a secure source of water.

With Great Fish River Lodge reopening on the 1st of September after an extensive renovation of the 9 suites and main areas, we can’t wait to start re-booking clients and our partners at Kwandwe are excited to start welcoming guests again.

Experience The Magic Of The Southern Right Whale 🐋

Each year, between the months of June and December, the nutrient-rich waters of Walker Bay become the winter playground for our ‘tons-of-fun’ friends, the Southern Right Whale. Our partners at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, with their 5-Star premium lodges, is ideally positioned on the coastline to offer you close encounters with these magnificent creatures.

With each new whale season they await the return of hundreds of Southern Right Whales that travel thousands of kilometres from the Antarctic across the vast Atlantic Ocean to reach the comparatively warm waters along the coast. Here they will congregate in the sheltered shallow waters of the bay to mate and calve their young.

This great journey is one that plays a crucial role in the ecosystem of life. This year's whale season in Walker Bay is currently underway and is expected to be the all-time marine season for whales and sharks.
