SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular!

Halloween Spooktacular returns to SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Diego and SeaWorld San Antonio in September. Guests of all ages can join everyone's favorite furry friends from Sesame Street as The Count, Elmo, Abby and others take the stage in "Sesame Street's Countdown to Halloween." Families will also enjoy a Halloween Dance Party and meet whimsical characters inspired by the sea. For this special event, children can dress in their Halloween costumes and take part in fun-filled trick-or-treating in the park.

The daytime Halloween fun takes place every Saturday and Sunday starting September 22 through October 28, 2018 at SeaWorld Orlando and San Diego and September 28 through October 28 at SeaWorld San Antonio, and is included with park admission. Event hours are 11 a.m. to park close.

Halloween Spooktacular Highlights
•Sesame Street's Countdown to Halloween – Celebrate a Spooktacular Halloween at SeaWorld with The Count, Elmo, Abby, and the rest of their Sesame Street friends! The Count is feeling lonely this Halloween, and it's up to the loveable monsters from Sesame Street to get him into the Halloween spirit. Batty bats and spooky skeletons join the fun in a song-filled stage show that invites guests to dance, play and sing along.
•Penelope's Garden Party – This dynamic "underwater" environment comes to life with a live DJ, bubbles floating overhead, unique photo opportunities and colorful sea-themed characters.
•Pets Ahoy Halloween – Guests can enjoy a special Halloween version of this side-splitting show with surprise twists, and a cast of unlikely characters that will have the whole family laughing from beginning to end.
•Waves of Trick-or-Treat Fun – Costumed youngsters can trick-or-treat for ghoulish goodies. Each sea-themed, trick-or-treat station features an assortment of candy favorites including Tootsie Roll®, Airheads® and Junior Mints®, just to name a few. Only kids under 12 are permitted to wear a mask. ◦Trick-Or-Treat Bag Policy – We ask that guests join us in our efforts to protect our seas by bringing a reusable bag or Halloween bucket from home for treats. Guests can also pick up a resuable bag at the park (see image) for as little as 99¢ at any park gift shop. When they do, 5% of each bag purchase will go directly to the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund. Please do not bring plastic bags for trick-or-treating and team with us to protect animals and the environment.

•Halloween Dance Party – Children join Princess Penelope and her under-the-sea friends for a Spooktacular Dance Party where they can participate in line-dancing favorites as clouds of bubbles fill the evening air. The party kicks off in the front of the park every event night one hour before park closing.
•Mermaid Grotto – Meet a mystical mermaid from an underwater world of fantasy. Capture the amazing moment with a Mermaid Photo Package, available for purchase at the park.

Starting Aug. 27, JetBlue will begin charging $30 for the first bag, and $40 for the second, and $150 for the third bag for travelers purchasing its base, Blue fare ticket. Those prices are up from the $25 the company had previously charged for a first checked bag, $30 for a second, and $100 for a third.

With the increase, JetBlue will become the first major airline to charge $30 for a traveler’s first checked bag. Most other major American carriers — including American, Delta, and United — all charge $25 for the first checked bag; while Southwest still allows for two free checked bags.

American Airlines is making Basic Economy fares a little less basic – but still keeping most of the rules that make this the most bare-bones of the major carrier fare offerings.

In an announcement during the carrier’s second quarter earnings call, American Airlines executives said that they are removing the limit on carry-on bags other than a personal item. Fliers booked on the flights starting Sept. 5 can bring on a carry-on free of charge; previously, it had to be small enough to fit under the seat.

Buying a trip is different from other purchases; there is no do-over for a vacation gone wrong. And like any trusted advisor, the role of your travel professional is to match you up with the perfect product for you. So be honest, tell them what you like and how much you can afford to spend, and they will do their best to get you the most for your money.

“When a client is very resistant or hesitant to discuss budget, often it's because they don't understand our process as travel agents,” said Sally Black founder of Vacationkids.com. “A good agent knows it's not about selling this year's vacation. It's about creating a trusting relationship so you'll come back year after year while telling your friends to do the same. A good agent doesn't want to waste your precious time — and honestly, they don't want to waste their own time either.

“Often pricing is based on availability, especially with airline tickets. Buying decisions have to be made fairly quickly to avoid disappointments. Having a working budget allows you to make intelligent buying decisions on the fly. If you're working with a travel agent, expect the question about budget to come up.”

“A person’s opinion on what price is expensive or cheap is relative, so it is my job as their advocate and agent to get them the best experience for the right price for THEM!” said Chris Hornick, owner of Chris Hornick Dream Vacations in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. “I never want to insult a potential client by offering something ‘too cheap’ in their eyes or way ‘too expensive’ simply because I did not know.”
