Delaney & Sons takes Americans to Wales, England, Scotland and Spain to shoot driven birds: pheasant, partridge, ducks and woodcock.

Delaney & Sons offers exclusive shooting trips in the United Kingdom. Our shooting adventures are based in the majestic mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales and in the moors of the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. Our intent is to provide groups of like-minded American hunters with premier authentic driven shooting opportunities focused on high-flying, well pre

sented birds in diverse conditions, without pretense. The camaraderie and infectious enthusiasm of driven shooting is something that every bird hunter should experience.

The garron pony, the traditional means for extracting a stag off the hill, is an increasingly rare sight in the Highlands.

There are only a handful of estates that still use garrons, and seeing them at work is really a special experience. Best 4x4 ever!

And that, as they say, is a wrap. We had an excellent week, loads of success in the hills and the moors with red stag, roe deer, and red grouse in the bag and on the table.

But the weather gods were not with us and the salmon were not playing the game. That is why it is a challenge...if it was easy it would not carry so much worth.

A big thank you to both of teams of sportsmen, the keepers, stalkers, ghillies, cooks, housekeepers and staff who make this endeavor possible!

On to next year, who’s up for the challenge??

Day Three of The MacNab Challenge - More sunshine and high temps today. We had a good go at the grouse, and took two more stags off the hill. Chris R. had both, and spent the evening in the river. Still no bar of silver...

Day one of The MacNab Challenge is in the books!

We saw dozens of salmon rolling and jumping in the Dee and the North Esk, but sadly they were not cooperative. We did manage a brown trout and a salmon parr though. And one successful stalk with a stag in the larder. Bring on Day Two!

The day has finally arrived, the start of the shooting season, the 12th of August. The Glorious 12th.

Communities coming together to celebrate the hard work of the keepers and owners in the moors of the United Kingdom. This is the start of gathering with old friends and new in the field. Grouse today, partridge in September, and pheasant in October.

This has been a challenging Summer for grouse keepers to say the least, but we tip our hats to all, and wish good chance to the lucky ones heading out to the hills today!
