AMTRAK UPDATE: Amtrak is pleased to announce that Amtrak trains #380 (morning eastbound train) and #381 (morning westbound train) will return to the regular schedule starting Monday, January 16. The train schedule was originally altered due to staffing shortages. This returns the level of service to four trains daily at Plano, Kewanee, Macomb and Quincy.

The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.
Running a business is really hard.
What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid-back people.
People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.
Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.
You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.
Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend...
There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.
Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!
It’s harder now than ever before with lack of inventory and rising cost that are out of control !!
It’s so difficult to hire staff to operate these days!
To all of our dedicated customers please understand we are doing everything we can do to keep prices down and to give you the service as we always have but so much we can’t control but We Appreciate all of you!

Starting Wednesday mid afternoon: Dallas flights for today are cancelled. Weather there and weather expected here.
Through the late afternoon and into evening… 5 calls with my travelers, 1 call to Hawaii to advise, 85, yes - 85 calls to my wholesaler to just get through… only to find out their air department was closed for the day and I needed to call the airline.
I have been on hold since 712pm last night helping rebook a couple leaving today… for Hawaii. Still on hold 720am and it’s now over 12 hours. This is “Sleepless in Colona”.
Beautiful morning sky! Jan 12 2022… the travel outlook is encouraging. Left at 530 this morning to attend an update/training near Oakbrook with my suppliers!
