gem for a healthy getaway. Stroll the quaint Downtown area among the many murals to visit the Historic Railroad Depot, Museum, Shops and Galleries. A short drive west will reveal local Wineries, and an Alpaca ranch that are open to the public. Towards the south, visitors can experience soaring by taking a Sail Plane ride or seeing the view from a Hot Air Balloon. Several hiking trails, equestrian facilities and the largest Action Sports Facility in the west keep the visitors that want to keep moving, doing just that. Experience American ingenuity by taking a short scenic drive to the world famous Tehachapi Loop to watch the trains wind up the grade. Built in 1876, this engineering marvel is the only place in the world where the Locomotive passes it’s own caboose. There are over 40 restaurants in the area that offer something for every mood. For beer and wine enthusiasts, you'll want to attend our Tehachapi Beer and Wine Festival and our Cheers to Charity event, both offering unique local and regional wines and craft beer (including many home brews).
