IndiGo Birding Nature Tours, LLC was formed in late 2013 with the goal of providing all levels of nature enthusiasts with a memorable experience. IndiGo Birding customizes birding trips and kayaking tours that also cover a wide variety of natural history topics. The characteristic that makes IndiGo Birding unique is my desire to design a tour specifically for you and to accommodate you and your group in every possible way.

Many thanks to Abdul Ramirez at Lamanai Outpost Lodge for showing us some awesome birds during our tour visit! The spotlight safari was one for the ages: American Pygmy Kingfisher, 2 Northern Potoos, an Agami Heron, a kinkajou, and a Morelet's Crocodile were some of the highlights on an amazing starry night. Our walk through the archaeological site and the sunset cocktail cruise weren't too bad either! 😉

It’s been a busy few days to start the Belize Birding and Culture Tour. And yes, we are eating well!

Northern Belize Birding Tour is in the books! We had a great time with stellar guide Roni Martinez as we focused on supporting and birding important conservation areas in the north. The tour got nicknamed the "Lifers Before Breakfast Tour" because of all the early-morning success we had! Here are a few of my favorite photos from the trip, with a little extra info in the captions. Back at it in a few days with the Belize Birding & Culture Tour!

So excited and honored to be asked to write an article about Goose Pond FWA and birding in Indiana for BWD! Just received my copy in the mail today… it’s definitely a stellar issue that I will likely read cover to cover. I love the formatting they did for my article. On a drive yesterday from Indianapolis to Chicago, I took a meandering route to visit new places. My favorite of the day was the Portland Arch Nature Preserve in Fountain County (western Indiana) that provided me with nice winter birding and some really cool rock formations to admire. Future tour destination?!?

A few images from tours this past week to Jasper-Pulaski FWA and surrounding ag lands in northwest Indiana. Thousands of Sandhills Cranes are quite the sight and sound to behold. And 4 Whooping Cranes were the highlight for everyone!

Two of our cool finds at Kankakee Sands Nature Preserve on yesterday's birding tour.... we then spent the afternoon admiring Sandhill Cranes around Jasper-Pulaski FWA. I'll post those photos tomorrow.

We enjoyed beautiful weather yesterday for the first Jasper-Pulaski Sandhill Crane tour of the season. Here are a few of the images from the trip, including some notes and challenges in the comments. The next few weeks should see increasing numbers of cranes, and I have plenty of availability for tours. Right now, I'm specifically looking for people interested in registering for December 8, 10, or 11, as I have a couple interested in those days. Let me know!
