Blending family , fun, education and adventure all together in tropical rainforest and marine environments. Since 1992, we have hosted thousands of participants at The Outpost, a beautiful 2 acre property with unique Bahamian style cottages located directly on the Atlantic Ocean on the island of Eleuthera and can house up to 28 guests per week. We promote the study of island habitats, coral reefs
, species identification, island history & geology, conservation, and more. Wild Studies instructs through first hand observation, team centered learning, field instruction, and citizen science. Our instructors understand that environmental issues such as global warming, coral bleaching, and invasive species are large problems that seem too difficult for people to change. In our lessons we show participants how the global community is interconnected and small choices in each of our daily activities can have a positive impact on distant ecosystems. It is our mission to immerse our participants into the environment of the Bahamas through amazing adventures and real life experiences. Our activities include: snorkeling, freediving, hiking, and spelunking.
- SNORKELING: Explore shallow bays & lagoons, coral reefs, rock walls, and drift snorkel.
- BEACH HIKES: Collect rare shells, sea glass, and other beach treasures. Beach cleanups and discussions on marine debris
- FIELD DATA COLLECTION: Learn to identify Caribbean fish, corals and invertebrate species for personal dive logs and, participate in field data collection for conservation organizations such as REEF.
-SPELEUNKING: Explore natural limestone cave formations around the island. We hope that you will join us on an adventure of a lifetime with Wild Studies!
