NEW BOOK ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I hope everyone is having a great year thus far! I just wanted to announce that I just signed the contract for a new book entitled “Haunted Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.” It will be released by the History Press hopefully before the end of this year. It has been approximately five years since the release of my last book, “Haunted Martinsburg.”

This book is a huge research project that will encompass Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan Counties. It is my mission with this publication, to not recycle the same stories that everybody has heard for years unless I have something new to add to them. Some famous stories and legends have been embellished over the years and the true factual parts of the tales have been overlooked by ghost storytellers and authors that have failed to put forth the effort to get the facts straight. I’m hoping to change that in my telling of the tales and to uncover and share some lesser known, forgotten stories from the rich folklore spanning these counties for generations.

Some new Martinsburg stories and updated narratives and experiences from a few locations from the previous book are sure to be included as well.

Throughout the writing of this book I welcome and encourage anyone that has a good story to tell from the region to reach out to me via text or phone call at 304-261-7470. Stories may be selected for possible inclusion in the new book!

FYI….

We just had a couple of spots open up for this Saturday for the Morgan Cabin Haunted Tales tour at 6:30 pm. If interested, give us a call at 304-261-7470 to reserve your space. This tour is a highly atmospheric stroll around one of Berkeley County’s most treasured historic landmarks. Dark woods, flickering lanterns, and eerie cemeteries are all part of the fun on this fundraising seasonal event for this extremely important piece of WV history.

Also, we have the frightfully fantastic tour at the historic, and VERY haunted Martinsburg Roundhouse this Friday at 7:30 pm. This is your chance to enter one of Martinsburg’s most haunted structures at night, in the dark! This is an exclusive tour only available for the month of October. The facility is normally closed to the public at night, but is open to us for tours through special arrangement with the Martinsburg Roundhouse Authority. The tour is $15 per person with a percentage of each admission going to the Roundhouse. Must be 13 & up.

Call 304-261-7470 to reserve your spots!

We had a fabulous first weekend of tours with the Martinsburg Roundhouse and the Morgan Cabin! Once again, thank you to all who attended and we look forward to seeing those who will be attending our other tours scheduled every weekend this month.

Here are a few photos from last nights Halloween tours at the Morgan Cabin. The moon made an appearance and loomed large over us helping to create the perfect ambience!

08/10/2022

A huge thank you going out to everyone that joined us on our first “History and Hauntings Tour of the Martinsburg Roundhouse!” We had splendidly spooky weather and a few strange things happen to a couple of people! We’re doing this tour every Friday night in October so if you haven’t reserved your spots, do so now because they are booking up fast!

Tonight we’re having our first ever Halloween tour at the Morgan Cabin and we have a full house so for those attending, we look forward to seeing you!

Happy October everyone! While our first weekend of tours was a washout unfortunately because Mother Nature had other plans, we will be resuming tours this coming weekend. Both the Roundhouse Tours and the Morgan Cabin Tours will be premiering! Both are brand new tours featuring exciting locations and stories!

As we head into our month long venture of spooky tours just a friendly reminder so you know what to expect:

These are historically based, storytelling tours. They are NOT paranormal investigations. You are welcome to bring cameras but any other type of paranormal investigative devices used to try and communicate with the dead need to be left off of the tour. The reason for this being that these are not those type of tours and participants will not have the opportunity to be trying to capture EVP’s or actively attempt spirit communication. We do not try to interact with spirits on our tours or provoke or invite them to do so. We do not want anything following us home or hitching a ride with us. Some of the spirits at these locations are not spirits that you want reaching out to you.

With that being said paranormal experiences can and have happened on tours. If that happens-it’s because those unseen are reaching out by choice-not because we’re encouraging them to do.

For all those joining us on tours this month we look forward to seeing you and ask that you please understand and respect this policy.

Happy Hauntings!

This Friday marks the premiere of our brand new tour for this Halloween season, “History and Hauntings of the Martinsburg Roundhouse!” We are offering this tour on six different dates starting this weekend throughout the month of October. Have you ever wondered if Martinsburg is haunted or what goes bump in the night at Martinsburg’s historic Roundhouse? This is your chance to find out! FYI, this place is NOT for the faint of heart! Spaces are filling up fast and reservations are required so don’t miss out on this limited event. Call 304-261-7470. Ages 13 & up only.

Just a brief follow up to my announcement regarding the “History and Hauntings of the Roundhouse,” tours. While the tours will be meeting in front of the cemeteries on South Street and I will be sharing stories regarding them, we will NOT be entering Old Norbourne Cemetery as in past tours. Trinity Episcopal Church has banned all ghost tours from being on the property. This is out of the control of the tours and while it is unfortunate, we must abide by and respect their rules. Since this is a very significant tour stop for both historical and paranormal reasons, we didn’t want to totally remove it from the tours. The compromise is to stand on the public sidewalk outside of the cemetery to look in so tour participants can still hear the stories and and see everything from a distance. Remember, the Martinsburg Roundhouse and Train Station property is the star of these tours! The cemetery stories are just a warm up for the main event! Thank you for understanding.

I am very excited to announce that we have partnered with the historic Martinsburg Roundhouse to bring you something new and exciting this Halloween season!

“History and Hauntings at the Martinsburg Roundhouse” is a spine chilling tour you don’t want to miss!

Begin the evening at the infamous “Graveyard Hill,” for stories contained with these 2 historic graveyards. Then, drive to the historic, and some say, very paranormally active Martinsburg Roundhouse property where we will enter the landmark structure in the dead of night for incredible tales of ghostly encounters within and on the grounds and surrounding areas of the East side of Martinsburg. Join us if you dare!

Tours begin at 7:30 pm on the following dates:

Friday 9/30
Saturday 10/1
Friday 10/7
Friday 10/14
Friday 10/21
Friday 10/28

Cost is $15 per person with a percentage of each tour admission price going towards the continued upkeep and restoration of the Martinsburg Roundhouse property. Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver before the start of each tour. No children under 13 are permitted. Reservations are required and must be made by calling 304-261-7470.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not be entering the cemeteries-the stories will be told from outside the cemetery perimeters. This is out of the control of the tours. Thank you for understanding.

This October will mark our ninth season of giving ghost and history tours in historic Martinsburg. This year we are very excited to be able to expand to another historic and haunted landmark in Berkeley County-the Morgan Cabin!

Famed for being the homestead for the first permanent white settler of WV-Col Morgan Morgan, the cabin and the surrounding areas are full of mystery. These special tours are conducted by lantern light on cool, dark fall nights.

Hear about the bloody apparition of James Morgan-brutally murdered in the 1700’s and the amazing story of a recently discovered unmarked cemetery and of visitations and messages from beyond the graves!

Morgan Cabin Haunted Tales is being offered on 4 nights this October:

10/8

10/15

10/22

10/29

Each night there are two tour slots available at 7:00 pm and 8:30. Please note that the 7:00 pm tour on 10/15 is booked. Space is extremely limited and reservations must be made by calling 304-261-7470. While there is nothing blatantly scary and no one will try to intentionally frighten you-these tours are not recommended for children younger than 10. The entire tour is in total darkness involving dark wooded areas, graveyards, and discussion of a violent death.

These tours are free of charge but donations are greatly encouraged and will go towards the continued upkeep and maintenance of this historic gem.

We hope to see you on one of these very spooky tours this year! There are some very cool things in the works for the Martinsburg tours this year more to come on that.

02/05/2022

We are completely booked solid for the ghost tours on 5/13 & 5/14! The response we have received from the community has been overwhelming and much appreciated! A huge thank you going out to everyone for their interest and participation these tours! For those that wanted to come but didn’t get to reserve spots or are unable to attend that weekend, we do offer private tours for groups and are planning to offer public tours on a more regular basis through the spring and summer.

For those of you joining us on Founder’s Day weekend, we will see you then!!!
