Todays guide spotlight! Spring!

This is Springs first year guiding with Redwood Rides.

Her favorite trip is any and all the trip that are outside. 😂

Her nickname is Spring “over-prepared” Wilson

Some fun facts about Spring is that she hiked in & out of the Grand Canyon 4 times, met an astronaut, and got to kiss the bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I also love to learn about/explore almost everything that crosses my path and never plan to change that.

Todays guide spotlight! Jaia!

Jaia is a first year guide for Redwood Rides. Her favorite trip to guide is the Redwood by River half day.

A fun fact about Jaia is that she undertook a month long solo backpacking trip in Mexico and wrote a book about it afterwards!
She also loves collecting wild mushrooms and her friends know her as “Ms. can’t stay inside during mushroom season.”
(The second picture is a bears tooth mushroom she found while kayaking in Maine)

Show Jaia some love in the comments section if she was your guide!

Our guide spotlight today is Scott!

This is Scott’s first year as a guide for Redwood Rides! His favorite trip to lead is the Castle Rock Ocean Wildlife kayak tour.
Scott’s friends know him as Mr. never responds because he is always in the water kayaking and surfing away from his phone whenever possible.

Mitchel grew up here in Crescent City and started his love of water young when he began surfing. His favorite trip to lead now is any morning trip as there’s more wildlife out and about.

Our guide spotlight today is Ryan!

Ryan has been a guide for 5 years now. His favorite trip to do is the north fork. Ryan says that a fun fact about him is that he chooses to take the “spicy routes.” follow behind him “for a good time not a long time.” All jokes aside Ryan does a great job of keeping guests safe. We call him Ryan but his friends know him as the “pagan paddler”

Our Story

Growing up together in Minnesota, co-owner Alex Kwan and I got our first taste of canoeing on a middle school field trip. By the time we graduated high school, we were planning multi-day trips in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, surviving on fresh-caught fish and peanut butter sandwiches. Even then, we never could have imagined that our growing love of boating would turn into this.

Now, almost twenty years later, we spend our days helping visitors from near and far experience the magic of the ancient redwood forest, the clear turquoise Smith river, and the incredible Siskiyou mountains. Join one of our knowledgable guides on a mellow river tour through the old growth redwoods, or splash your way through exciting rapids on our whitewater river trips. Pedal your way through the fern-covered forest, down a wilderness mountaintop, or along the stunning coastline on an all-levels bike tour.

Up for a self-guided adventure? Our equipment rentals are convenient and affordable--we’ll even tell you the best places to go and shuttle you to the top! No matter your age or athletic ability, we have a fun trip for your family, friends, or organization. Join us for an escape in nature you'll never forget!
