Our Story

Best Fishing In Alaska, LLC is proudly owned and operated in Ketchikan, Alaska, the Salmon Fishing Capital of the World!

We use our award-winning customer service, experienced local saltwater guides, and large, comfortable cabin cruiser boats to create memories of a lifetime for cruise ship and lodge visitors from all over the world.

From Pete, the Owner:

A born-and-bred lifetime Alaskan, starting at the age of 14, I've devoted over 25 years to the Alaskan cruise ship and tourism industry, most of it in providing Salmon charter fishing tours to private parties and cruise lines such as Princess Cruises.

Over those 25 years, I've worked my way up from the bottom to the top- a lowly Deckhand on a half-dozen charter boats, worked with or employed dozens of professional charter guides, worked with every cruise line in the industry, and been involved in taking nearly 100,000 cruise ship visitors on fishing expeditions.

Sharing the beauty, nature, and grandeur of my home, Ketchikan, with visitors is my lifelong passion, and I promise you, it will show. I haven't devoted 25 years in the the Alaskan hospitality and travel industry because I like to disappoint people!

I started Best Fishing In Alaska to do what I do best- provide visitors the best and most memorable Alaskan fishing experience possible in my home, Ketchikan, home of simply the BEST fishing in Alaska.

Aside from my decades in Alaskan travel and the travel industry awards I've received, as a person passionate for travel for ALL people, I've been fortunate enough to travel from Alaska all the way to Antarctica and everywhere in between.

As a fellow adventure traveler, from backpacks to mountaintops to cruise ships, I've taken dozens of tours and excursions in dozens of locales and know what it truly takes to create a memorable fishing and travel experience for you, your family, and your friends.

I know from first-hand experience that creating the right vacation can sometimes be a daunting challenge; nobody wants to pay too much or choose the wrong provider.

I respect the value of your hard-earned dollar and aim to earn it every step of the way.
