Great advice here, especially if traveling to a foreign country. Make sure you empty out EVERY pocket before packing!

ALWAYS start packing with a completely empty bag. Empty out suitcase and duffle bag pockets to make sure no prohibited items are accidentally in your luggage. Some countries have very strict and specific prohibitions. Look them up before you pack at travel.state.gov/destination.
