SO much has happened over this past weekend at D23! We are sure you’ve heard from a ton of great sources already but juuuust in case you missed it here are just a few highlights! There is plenty more and we suggest visiting the and pages for ALL the details!

Walt Disney World:

✨️DinoLand USA in Animal Kingdom will begin its transformation into Tropical America’s late 2024 and will feature an Indiana Jones ride, brand new carousel AND an Encanto attraction!

✨️Magic Kingdom is going to have a brand new nighttime parade debuting summer 2025; two new Cars attractions will be coming AND a brand new VILLAINS LAND is coming to this park featuring two attractions, dining and shopping!

✨️Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a brand new Monsters Inc land with ground breaking in 2025!

Disneyland:

✨️A brand new Avatar land is coming to California Adventure themed after The Way of Water; a brand new Coco attraction will break ground in 2026; and TWO new Avengers Campus attractions are coming!

✨️In Disneyland Park a new show titled “Walt Disney - A Magical Life” will open in 2025 featuring the FIRST animatronic of Walt himself! (We predict this one will make us emotional!)

✨️Plus the 70th Anniversary celebration will kick off in 2025!

Disney Cruise Line:

✨️FOUR new ships are joining the DCL fleet!

Disneyland Paris:

✨️A brand new Lion King attraction is coming to Disney Adventure World PLUS World of Frozen will open in 2026!

Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland:

✨️Both parks are getting new Marvel themed attractions, both Spider-Man but different from one another!

Tokyo Disneyland:

✨️A brand new nighttime spectacular called Reach for the Stars will debut in fall 2024!

Disney Movies:

✨️SO many films were announced at D23 but here are just a few that we’re looking forward to! Toy Story 5! Incredibles 3! Frozen 3! Zootopia 2! Elio! Live action Lilo and Stitch! Freakier Friday! The Mandalorian and Grogu!

In case you missed it, there are changes coming to the soon to be former Genie+ system! We know, we know...we all JUST feel like we figured out Genie+ and now we have ANOTHER system to learn?? But don't worry, we've got you!

First of all, if you're a new Disney goer you might be wondering what Genie+ is and what are Lightning Lanes and why are they changing and also why is everyone so invested in it?? 😕

Simply put: this paid system is a way to pre-book your ride times and give you the option of skipping the longer stand by queue. Many rides are included in the price for the system BUT some high demand attractions require a separate individual charge to access their Lightning Lane queues.

SO! Here's what's changing as of JULY 24, 2024!

✨️New Names:

Disney Genie+ will now be "Lightning Lane Multi Pass"
Individual Lightning Lane will now be "Lightning Lane Single Pass"

✨️New Features:

You can plan in advance, choose your experiences and times AND book for multiple days!

✨️How It Works:

Lightning Lane Multi Pass: You can make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in advance for a theme park and select available times. On the day of your visit you can check the My Disney Experience app to make additional selections!

Lightning Lane Single Pass: Secure a time to ride a high demand attraction in advance, just like the current system but with the benefit of planning ahead.

✨️Planning Windows:

Guests staying at WDW resort hotel can plan up to 7 days in advance for their entire stay (up to 14 days).

All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.

At this time guests must be in the US to make their selections so international guests may not be able to take advantage of the advance booking window. But Disney updates all the time so check with your agent or visit the Disney website for the most up to date info!
