Regent Seven Seas Cruises is now offering cruises to Alaska "from the beautiful port of Whittier, Alaska." Why? It is about one hour closer to the airport in Anchorage and there is a new cruise ship terminal to enjoy.

They are also replacing some visits to Ketchikan with Klawock instead for a more immersive destination experience.

"Nestled amongst lush rainforest typical of the Inside Passage, Klawock is an authentic pioneer town on the rugged central-western coast of Prince of Wales Island.

Thriving wildlife, including bears drawn to the salmon-rich Klawock River and extensive collections of totem poles, promise a genuine Alaskan experience at this newly constructed port."

Not all of these are super luxurious but if you are into snorkeling they can at least get you close to the water. And we may have some other suggestions in some of these locations that can give you some more pampering. Just ask.
