Once an actual speakeasy, The Drifter is hidden underneath the Green Door Tavern. To find it you will have to head downstairs and discover the secret door. Milk room

Tucked away in Chicago’s Athletic Association you can experience world-class bartenders serving up classic cocktails the way they were meant to taste when they were created. This might be the most exclusive speakeasy in the city. With a micro bar that seats only 8 you better make reservations well in advance. If you do manage to get a seat, your senses will be transported back in time, thanks to Milk Rooms astonishing collection of rare and vintage spirits.



The Green Mill

This legendary Uptown Chicago bar was known for serving up spirits and live entertainment to mobsters all throughout the prohibition era. Al Capone used to frequent the establishment and always had a booth on reserve. Below the bar secret tunnels were used to transport alcohol and also made an excellent escape route! With its classic neon green sign, red velvet booths, and world renowned jazz, The Green Mill is a historic Chicago gem with tons of character.

CHICAGO — The Congress Plaza Hotel has been named the most haunted spot in Illinois. The hotel at 520 S. Michigan Ave. is supposedly the home of a number of ghosts — including that of notorious gangster Al Capone, according to Travel + Leisure magazine, which picked the most haunted spots in the United States. The Congress also is reported to be the home of ghosts Karel Langer, a young boy who runs around the halls, and Peg Leg Johnny, who plays with the light switches, according to WBEZ. And the hotel supposedly inspired Stephen King's horror story,"1408."

Chicago's skyline could be dramatically redrawn in the next few years, as developers have unveiled plans for six towers that would rank among the 20 tallest in the city. Although the change in Chicago's look could be dramatic, it wouldn't be unusual. Building heights are on the rise around the globe.
