Black shadow Dressage is owned by Jessie Vaughan and serves central Georgia. Jessie has been riding and training Dressage for over 16 years and has won numerous state, regional and national honors. Jessie grew up in California and has trained with Olympian Guenter Seidel as well as ridden in clinics with Steffen Peters and Jane Savoie. She is currently part of the USDF Instructor/Trainer Program w
orking towards her certification. Jessie spent her youth training and competing in Dressage on her Arabian, Catching Fire. She trained him up to 4th level and won a 3rd Level National Championship at just 15. Since then she has started many young horses as part owner of Black Shadow Trakehners. Black Shadow Trakehners is known for producing incredibly talented and accomplished horses in both the Dressage and Eventing worlds. She trained both their stallions in becoming approved the through the American Trakehner Association. She has extensive experience bringing along young, green horses through the levels of dressage. Jessie has also brought her dressage training to the therapeutic riding world. She was head instructor at a non-profit therapeutic riding center in Arkansas, teaching over 40 students a week. She has helped individuals with varying disabilities reach physical, cognitive and emotional goals all while gaining a sense of independence.She uses the principles of dressage to help riders with balance, coordination and communication. She is certified to teach through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship ( PATH International) and is currently working on her advanced level certification.
