A Happy 4th of July to all of you! Today is a day to celebrate our country and the freedoms we enjoy thanks to the sacrifices of so many.

I’m so thankful to my grandfather, Menelaos Varlamos, who came to this country in the early 1900s and raised his family here - we’ve been blessed and appreciate the difficulties he faced as an immigrant.

Today isn’t just about hot dogs, hamburgers, and fireworks - it’s about loving your country, protecting it, and valuing the freedoms we enjoy. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We LOVE to travel in the Fall especially to Europe! September and October are beautiful due to fewer people, lower prices, a slower pace, and the colors of the leaves changing. Cooler temperatures is also a big plus since summer can be so stifling hot. There are SO incentives available to travel during the second half of 2024 that it may be worth your while to consider a trip this year; here are some suggestions:

Italy - spend a week in Rome, Venice, Florence, or Sorrento as your base and add in a day trip or two outside of those cities - you don't have to explore the whole country in one trip!

Iceland - visit this beautiful country in the Fall for a better change to see the Northern Lights.

The UK - there's so much to see here but you can easily spend a week in London, Edinburgh, Belfast, or Cardiff as a base to explore these cities and the surrounding countryside.

Ireland - using Dublin as your base you can enjoy this incredible city as well as head over to the west coast for more beautiful scenery (fly into Dublin and leave out of Shannon).

River Cruises - hugely popular on the Rhine, the Danube, the Seine, the Moselle, etc. but also on the Douro through Portugal and Spain. Christmas Markets cruises MAY have some availability but those tend to fill up quickly due to the short season.

Ocean Cruises - available all over the world! They're a great way to see several countries in one trip or you can choose a more immersive option that focuses on one or two countries.

All-Inclusives to Mexico and the Caribbean - always a crowd pleaser! If you're looking for a relaxing time, especially after spending all summer with kids, this is a great option especially at an adult-only resort.

These are just a few ideas for you to consider for a last-minute vacation in 2024; it's not too late and Around The World Vacations is here to help!

Good news for international travelers! Not only has the State Department reopened online passport renewals but they will be opening 6 new passport offices around the USA. This will do much to help the backlog of applications now that more and more people are comfortable traveling post pandemic.

Empty Nesters - you have spent years raising your family and getting the kids on the path to adulthood and independence. Now what?

TRAVEL! No more coordinating vacation time with school schedules and sport schedules and all the other things that made it difficult to travel together. It’s very freeing now that you can travel in the off season when there are fewer crowds and better pricing. It’s not too late to take a trip in 2024 and there are many promotions available to encourage you to book a ‘last-minute’ vacation for this year. Take advantage of these opportunities to celebrate a job well done!

Isn’t this a beautiful picture? We have 3 couples heading to Bergen, Norway in August to begin a Scandinavian cruise which ends in Stockholm, Sweden after stopping at some incredible ports on their itinerary.

Memorial Day feels extra special for us this year since we visited the D-Day Beaches in France a couple of months ago. The sacrifices the young men and women made to protect not only our country but others help us appreciate the freedoms we have because of them. We’re SO thankful and proud to be Americans! Today as you celebrate the unofficial start of summer please remember what this day really means. To all our military clients, thank you for your service! 2026 SOLAR ECLIPSE CRUISE!!!
