Last week we finished up two consecutive Whistler trips, each with five days of killer riding across three locations: Whistler (two days), Squamish (two days), and Pemberton. Between the two groups we managed to cover quite a range of trails, from blue flow trails all the way up to steep double black tech and slab trails! The riding between the locations is quite different, and the variety of trails you’ll encounter on this trip is incredible from day to day.

We did our best to capture the riding on each trip and combine them into one photo essay: follow below to get a rundown of each day, the riders’ favorite trails, and the best images from the trip. You can also hit the link below to see more pictures and the riders’ favorite trails from each day:

Yesterday was Day 4 in Squamish on the Alice Lake trails, and these guys learned the definition of progression on the steeps and slabs. It’s incredible to see how much better our riders get when they’re presented with new and unique trails to ride.

We hit classics like In N Out and Boney Elbows, but then also got onto some other great slab trails like Highway to Hell, Dirk’s Diggler, and Wizard Sleeve. What a day for everyone, with perfect weather and conditions once again!

Despite the IG algorithm, we’re going to share our two favorite photos from the day - likely two of the coolest shots we’ve taken during a trip in recent memory.

Perfect weather and trail conditions in Pemberton are a rarity, but the group today struck gold... and damn was it good! We were able to get on some of the good ole’ Pemby steeps today, riding a bunch of black trails over the course of a solid morning and slightly shorter afternoon session.

Pemberton is a pretty special place that is often overlooked: the climbs here might be somewhat soul-crushing, but damn are they worth it... the combination of steeps, tech and views are tough to beat anywhere in North America.

A few photos from our day in Whistler yesterday, getting after it right away on some super fun (and steep) blacks and double blacks like Working Class, Bush Doctor and AC/DC. It’s awesome to see the progression in such a short time, knowing that we have four more incredible days coming still!

Day 4 (yesterday) of our Sea to Sky trip was spent in Squamish.... crushing tech and steep slabs all day in the Alice Lake area. The crew really stepped it up and pushed the limits, and it was so much fun watching the progression throughout the day. A few of the favorite trails were Boney Elbows, Entrails and of course In-n-Out.

Today we wrap things up with another day here in Whistler before everyone must sadly head home. The weather has finally turned for the better and it’s going to be a great day!

Yesterday on Day 3 of our Sea to Sky BC trip we hit the Diamond Head area of Squamish... fairly nice weather overall, but the trails were certainly saturated with rain from the previous couple of days and were quite slick and “puddly”. That didn’t stop the crew from having a great time mixing in some flow and tech, some fast and some slow, and generally a great time that earned the post-ride beer.

Today we’re heading back down to Squamish to ride the Alice Lake area.... slabs and tech is the name of the game there. Can’t wait to see what we can get into!

We typically ride in Squamish on the second day of our Sea to Sky trips, but due to a wet forecast, we headed north and hit Pemberton... what a call! Super tacky trails (for the most part, a little mud mixed in), perfect weather, and this crew unlocked some tech sections that was impressive to watch. In the right conditions, it’s tough to beat the Mackenzie trails in Pemberton, and I’m quite sure these guys agree!

Today we’re heading down to Squamish to brave the rain and wet trails, fingers crossed it lets up a bit for us!

The first day of our Sea to Sky trip yesterday in photos: we started the crew off with a short skills session before getting into some steeps and tech on the west side of the valley. The weather held off until early afternoon, but even then the rain didn’t dampen any spirits. It’s a mental game here in wet conditions: the rocks look slick, but there’s actually quite a bit of grip if you attack with confidence.

With heavy rain in the Squamish area today, we’re calling a last minute audible and heading up valley to Pemberton instead... should be a great day!

We’re going to come right out and say it: you’ve likely never put together a combination of six days of rides quite like this. We created this enduro-focused trip to challenge even the best riders out there, ones that are looking for a week of epic rides like no other. It’s going to be one of the best mountain bike experiences you’ll ever have, and we can’t wait to take you along on the journey.

In mid-August, this trip spans both Salida and Crested Butte and will tick off a bucket-list ride every day we’re on the bike with around 30,000’ of descending. Hit the link below for more details including a ridiculous itinerary, details, and how to book:

Due to popular demand, we’re adding a trip to Moab this fall: join us from October 12-16th in the Mecca of MTB to tick off rides on every mountain biker’s bucket-list! The Whole Enchilada, Mag 7, Captain Ahab... we’ll tackle them all, plus some. Before coming to Moab, make sure your technical skills are tip-top, because Moab has trails that humble even the most accomplished riders. From flowing singletrack to exposed, rocky cliffs that will make your jaw drop, Moab offers enough trails to keep you busy for weeks. We can’t imagine a better way to cap off the riding season!

Go ahead and ask for time off, set your travel plans, and hit the link below for more information (including our planned itinerary and more trip details) to book your spot... this one isn’t going to last long:

A couple of weeks ago we wrapped up our trip to Hurricane with the Worldwide Cyclery crew, and the feedback is coming in... needless to say, it was a resounding success and we can’t wait to ride with all of these folks again soon!

“The Chasing Epic experience is truly a high end, bespoke riding adventure worthy of being a bucket list item. Steve and crew have the “arrive and ride model” nailed down so you can 100% focus on enjoying the trip. They are also as flexible as they are accommodating, as they work to ensure everyone equally enjoys the experience. These trips indeed are truly epic.”

“There’s no better way to see the world on a mountain bike than with Chasing Epic! From the well maintained high-end bikes, to the lodging and food, to the incredible rides Chasing Epic is the best in the business.”

“Everything about this trip was perfect: can’t wait to do another Chasing Epic trip. Thank you Steve.”

That’s a wrap on the high desert riding this spring; we just finished up our Fruita/Moab trip with an awesome crew... that was on the heels of our Moab Training Camp and our Hurricane trip with the Worldwide Cyclery crew.

Between the tech of Kokopelli, the Lunch Loops and the Whole Enchilada, the last day of flow on the 18 Road trails was a welcome change. All in, the crew rode over 75 miles of some sweet, sweet desert tech!

What’s next? We’re taking May off for a personal vacation, before we’re back in early June for back to back trips to Whistler for our Sea to Sky trip. Two spots left on each one of those, anyone looking for an epic last minute getaway?

The next two weeks, we’re headed to the high desert for some incredible springtime riding: first off, down to the St. George / Hurricane area with the Worldwide Cyclery crew. We’ve got a big set of rides planned, ticking off all the big ones over the course of three days of riding.

Then the following week, we’re off to Fruita and Moab for more high desert goodness - three days of tech riding (Kokopelli, Lunch Loops, the Whole Enchilada) followed by a final day of fast, awesome flow on the 18 Road trails.

Stay tuned for updates from each trip, as we always post photos and video from each day so you can follow along and you’ll know what to expect if/when you join us!

It’s funny, the world famous (?) Monarch Crest trail gets all its accolades for the 30+ mile shuttled IMBA Epic route that includes Silver Creek and the Rainbow Trail... when we happen to think the best descents off the Crest are totally separate from that ride. Starvation, Greens, and Fooses Creek are all 2500-4000’ downhills that are the perfect mix of tech, flow, chunk and steeps.

These three trails, plus a bunch more each day, make up the first half of our week-long Colorado Enduro trip that’s happening this August. The other half? We’ll head west to Crested Butte, where we’ve got three more days of bucket-list rides waiting for you.

NEW TRIP ALERT: Over the years we’ve listened to our most loyal customers’ feedback, and we’ve finally put together a series of EPIC new trips featuring *reverse shuttles*! That’s right, starting this summer these XC-focused trips will have you crushing big climbs all day; instead of wasting your time going back downhill, we’ll pick you up at the top, bring you back down, and let you do it all over again!

We’ve strategically picked three locations that allow us to use lift infrastructure (Park City), Forest Service roads (Crested Butte), and an industry first... a heli pick-up (Revelstoke)! That’s right, we’re heading back to Revy! A couple of years ago we posted pictures from our summer trips where we included a heli drop, and we received a lot of comments about doing it in reverse... so now we’re offering a heli PICK-UP! On the fourth day of the trip, we’ll climb 7,000’ (2100m) up the uber-technical Mt. Cartier trail before everyone is picked up on the peak and taken back down to the valley floor!

Just imagine knocking out 6-10k’ feet a day of relaxing, soulful climbing at high altitudes over the course of five straight days!

We just wrapped up the 1st annual Spring Training Camp with in Moab: four days of awesome riding, coaching and strategy to help prepare everyone for the upcoming race/ride calendar.

This weekend we’ll be in Moab running an all-new “training camp” with - three BIG days on the Mag 7, Porcupine Rim and Klondike Bluffs trail systems and one half-day ride at Navajo Rocks to cap things off.

This trip is focused on learning all about training, nutrition, recovery and race strategy, but we’ll most certainly have fun on bucket-list desert tech and slickrock while we do it!

Steeps, slabs, tech or flow, which do you prefer? Luckily in Squamish, you get it all: crazy slabs, steep chutes, chunky and fast tech, and world-class flow trails all surrounding a world-class BC mountain (or ocean?) town. Some of our favorites include Full Nelson, Cake Walk, Pseudo Tsuga, In N Out Burger and Highway to Hell but there are so, so many more to explore.

That’s not to mention the incredible trails in Whistler and Pemberton, which are the two other spots on our Sea to Sky BC trip. We’re counting down the days, only three months... are you in?

As you probably already know by now, we are big proponents for training so you can make the most of your time with us: to that effect, we teamed up with Coach Mike at Durner Performance to develop a two-stage training program that's included with all of our trips.

Coach Mike put together a nice little mid-Winter "check in" for anyone that's interested, with some tips on how to make your training time more efficient and effective. From a high level, focus on:

Consistency
Simplify Your Training
Challenge Yourself
Fueling and Hydration

We love big rides in the mountains... where the days are long, the descents are all-time, and it’s just our crew and Mother Nature. Whether that’s in the high country of Colorado, the desert of Utah, or the backcountry of Idaho, we’re definitely not partial; each experience is special and unique, and we love it all.

Some of our favorites?

Reno-Flag-Bear-Doctor Park in Crested Butte
Castle Creek to Greenhorn in Sun Valley
Molas Pass to Engineer Mountain in Durango
The Whole Enchilada in Moab
Fooses and Greens Creek in Salida

All of our trips have incredible views, and they’re so different from one location to the next: high desert, high alpine, coastal BC, it’s all amazing. Sometimes it’s hard to take them in since we’re having so much fun ripping the descents, but trust us, it’s worth stopping for a minute or two. Mother Nature doesn’t disappoint, that’s for sure.

We always get asked: do you ever get tired of the mountains? Our answer, every single time: absolutely not.

Slabs come in all shapes, sizes, textures, and undulations and are fairly unique to the PNW and Coastal BC... you can bet you’ll get your share of them (along with plenty of steep tech and flow) on our Sea to Sky trip in Whistler, BC. Riding them under control is a very specific MTB skill and can feel pretty foreign even to the best riders, which is why we like to ease folks into it on the first day with a fun practice session before we get into it.

Between Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton you’ll get a little bit of everything: long slabs, steep slabs, off-camber slabs, huge slabs, short slabs. Kind of reminds us of Bubba Gump describing his family’s shrimpin’ dynasty, except way more exciting!

It’s been a bit since we’ve hit the high desert of Hurricane / St. George, but we’re headed back in a couple months in mid-April with the Worldwide Cyclery crew... and this trip is going to be incredible! We’re packing in just about all you can handle into a 4-day, 3-night trip with enough riding to satisfy even the rowdiest of riders. Slickrock, chunk, never-ending flow... this trip has it all.

Day 1: Little Creek Mesa & JEM (shuttle)
Day 2: Gooseberry Mesa & Grafton (shuttle)
Day 3: Barrel and Zen Loops

We have a couple spots still available so if you’re looking for the perfect way to kick off your riding season, hit the link below!

We’re going to come right out and say it: we think our Colorado Enduro is the most bad-ass, toughest guided trip in the US. You’ve likely never put together a combination of six days of rides quite like this; we’re creating this enduro-focused trip to challenge even the best riders out there. Oh, did we mention over 30,000’ of descending?

Inspired by multi-stage enduro races like the Trans BC, this trip takes place over the span of a week (with 6 days of riding): we’re combining the best descents from Crested Butte and our Monarch Crest Enduro to create a single trip that will have bucket-list chasers jealous. With a combination of big pedal days and shuttle-assisted point to points, we can’t think of a combination of rides that we’d rather do in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Also... maybe it’s a preview of bigger things to come in the future? ;)

On the Crested Butte half of our Colorado Enduro, we have plenty of rowdy and never-ending descents as well... each of them lasting anywhere from 10-25 minutes of non-stop downhill- if you don’t have to stop and shake out your hands, that is. The slight majority of our riders favor Doctor Park, but our personal favorite varies each trip and is entirely depending on conditions and the crew we’re riding with!

Doctor Park: 5+ miles, 2500’
Teocalli: 5 miles, 2000’
403: 3.5 miles, 1800’
409.5: 3 miles, 1700’

We’ve got a few others thrown in for good measure, as the three days of riding in CB will cover about 14,000’ of descending (and not nearly that much climbing!). Who’s up for the challenge?

The descents off the world-famous Monarch Crest trail are all time, and offer looooong downhills of rowdy tech and incredible views. How long? 2500-4000' in a single shot, and you'll have your bones rattled by the rocks and roots on trails like Starvation, Greens, Fooses and Silver Creek.

We typically hit these trails on our Monarch Crest Enduro, but this year the trails are being combined differently into our week-long Colorado Enduro... three days of riding in Salida and then we head to Crested Butte for another three days. Essentially a 6-day enduro stage race in the form of a killer, all-inclusive trip: think you're up for the challenge?

What’s your favorite “flavor” of tech? High desert, coastal BC, or high alpine?

Coming up in the first half of 2024, we have enough tech-based trips to satisfy even the pickiest of riders: you can choose between Fruita/Moab, Sea to Sky BC, and our Colorado Enduro depending on what you’re looking for! High desert tech is best defined as chunky flow and more rocks than you’ve ever ridden before. Coastal BC tech has slabs, roots, rocks, chutes and steeps. And the high-alpine tech on our Colorado Enduro is all about never-ending steep chunk, awkward roots, and changing weather conditions.

Pemberton is a sleepy little town just 30 minutes north of Whistler, and it’s one of the stops on our Sea to Sky, BC trip - but don’t let appearances fool you. There are incredible trails surrounding the town on all sides with some of the most fun, and most challenging singletrack you’ll ride on the trip. Trails like Creampuff, Rusty Trombone, Bob Gnarly and Overnight Sensation are all about the tech, while Hawaii and Crosstown Traffic are damn fun flow trails.

All this adds up to an incredible day of riding sandwiched between Whistler and Squamish days, and a perfect way to earn the post-ride beer in town!

In mid-March, we’re running the first ever Training Camp with - three days of simulating the Moab Rocks stage race, and one day of fun/chill riding in the desert. Each night Syd and Macky, along with Coach Mike, will be covering race strategy, training, nutrition, recovery, and much more - whether you’re racing XC, Enduro, or just crushing your local loop all summer, this is going to be a killer way to kick off the season!

Back in October, the trip sold out (to their fans on Patreon) in just a few days... but due to a late cancellation, we have ONE SPOT open for the trip. If you’re interested, hit the link below for more details and to book the last spot!
