Smart Seat Picks for Smoother Flights 🧩💙
Flying with a child on the autism spectrum? Choosing the right seat can make a big difference in creating a calmer, more comfortable journey. Here are some tried-and-true tips from our team:
🔹 Pick window or middle seats to avoid disruptions from people and carts in the aisle.
🔹 Aim for seats near the front of the plane—quieter, quicker off the plane, and closer to cabin crew (just steer clear of restrooms and galleys).
🔹 Have a family member sit in front of your autistic child. This way, if your child happens to kick or press against the seat, it won’t disturb a stranger.
🔹 Bulkhead seats = extra space, but no under-seat storage. Keep that in mind if you’ll need access to comfort items mid-flight.

📞 Pro Tip: Contact your airline in advance—they may be able to waive seat selection fees for families traveling with autistic passengers.

REAL ID requirements are fast approaching so here is some additional information regarding travelers under the age of 18.

Does your child need a REAL ID to fly? Here’s what parents should know:

Good news – children under 18 do not need a REAL ID to fly domestically. If they’re traveling with an adult who has a REAL ID or another TSA-approved ID, they’re good to go!

However, if your teen plans to fly solo, you'll want to check with your airline for any additional requirements. If your teen is getting their first ID soon, consider getting a REAL ID, so they’re travel-ready for the future!
