Knowing how to stay safe in a dangerous world is a “learned behavior” that must be taught & practiced!
This news (5 years after the murder) is a horrific reminder of the evil people that prey on young women throughout our country. The fact that this killer has not faced any real justice, simply encourages predators “that getting away with murder may be a reality.”
Fortunately, our mission at The Vigilance Group does not evolve around the judicial system, but rather on ways to reduce, and hopefully prevent, an innocent coed from being attacked. Our goal is to honor previous young victims by sharing their stories in hopes of protecting others from a similar fate. We are honest in our training workshops, as we discuss ways to identify danger and how to effectively respond in order to escape and survive. Changing each person’s mindset from being a helpless victim, to one that knows how to survive, is the greatest gift anyone could share with a friend or loved one!

This video was made 10-12 years ago, as the Vigilance Group was defining our mission statement. It was never about one individual, but rather, about the collective knowledge and tactical experience that so many of my military partners brought to our training workshops! The greatest battle that you can ever win….is the one you never have to fight! Our strength is teaching others how to have the mindset of a lion, through knowledge, preparation and practice! We simply strongly believe the ancient proverb:
“It’s better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war”.
The Vigilance Group has visited and completed Security Assessments and training for dozens of schools over the years. However, today at SPS I was blown away by the positive security procedures and physical improvements this little Catholic school has made in the past 12 months! Great leadership, with a staff ready & willing to find ways to improve their security is the key to success!
Every year when we visit this little school to provide training, I learn a new safety procedure and/or improvement that I can share with other educators! Today was especially rewarding! Thanks Sister Veronica Marie for bringing us back! 🙏✝️
“Attack the Attack” - Active shooter training for the faculty @jpiiknights @dbzion is a champ leading this mock drill!
‼️ Warning ‼️ All people (especially women or teens) who use Ride Share. This is one of the most prevalent methods used in “human trafficking”. Look for dangerous signs and trust you gut! You can always decline the ride!

This post is so important, we wanted to share it on all our social media platforms!
Our team at The Vigilance Group, has studied and trained for a variety of terrorist attacks since the tragedy of 9/11. As horrific and well planned as that attack was at the Twin Towers, the results pale when compared to the recent attack on Oct 7th along the Gaza Strip! The closed border between Gaza and Israel is 25 miles long. The southern border between Mexico and the U.S. is 1954 miles long….and it’s not closed! I challenge all American families, as well as all Businesses, Schools, and Religious Leaders to consider, “are you prepared”?
Finding old videos from previous workshops, is a great reminder that most people still have an intrinsic desire to learn how to live safely in a dangerous world. Our goal at The Vigilance Group hasn’t changed over the years. Everyone has the right not to become a victim! Contact us anytime and let’s discuss on how we can help your group live a little safer every day.
Even though this video was made 3 years ago, it is more important today than ever before! I felt the need to share it today with our Vigilance Group followers, who may have served or have family & friends in today’s military! God Bless you all..🫡🇺🇸
This is why I am so motivated at The Vigilance Group to do Risk & Security Assessments for schools! They are America’s future!
There is no short cut when faced with a dangerous intruder or shooter! Until the Police arrive there are only 3 choices: ESCAPE! BARRICADE! Or ATTACK (violently)! All of this is a learned behavior and must be taught & practiced.
My son Michael and I simply tried to bring a little knowledge and a fighting spirit to these young coeds in the early days. It became a mission that has grown over the years! Blessed doing our best to protect our most vulnerable!
