Passport Processing Time
Passport processing can take as long as 11 weeks for routine requests and 7 weeks for expedited service. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get a valid passport before you travel internationally.

Many Americans are being forced to cancel international trips due to expired passports. The timeline for passport renewal is not only a long and frustrating renewal process it is also more complicated with processing times currently up to three times longer for both routine and expedited passport renewal services compared to before the pandemic.
Travelers who need to renew (either in person or via mail) need to allow extra time to do so. The best advice? Do it now!
And don't forget many international destinations require your passport to be valid for six months from your planned return date to the United States.
