TSA Precheck bill passed House to allow enrollment in the program online, rather than visiting an enrollment center in person. Still needs to pass Senate... stay tuned.

A new bill finally will make it possible to apply for the Transportation Security Administration’s Precheck program online—but end the practice of letting frequent flyers jump the line.

This is a GREAT article about why you should use a Travel Agent and the REAL statistics on how BAD the customer service is for almost ALL "Online Travel Agencies" (OTAs) like Expedia, Priceline, etc. The "do-it-yourself approach" will often cost you money, time, frustration and many times turns an adventurous or romantic vacation into a horrible experience. Please take a few minutes to read...

Hoteliers who don’t want to pay the OTAs’ commissions and marketing fees, which can exceed 30% of the room rate, are aggressively launching ad campaigns to encourage consumers to book direct. Global hotel giant Accor has even launched its own marketplace to allow small hotels a w…

Enjoyed another fun filled 7-day cruise on Carnival Valor departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, St Maarten and Barbados. Spent a few extra nights in San Juan, one night in Old San Juan, another at the end of the cruise in the Isla Verde area also know as Carolina. Here are some highlight photos or the great fun had with friends (old and new) on this adventure!

Just enjoyed a wonderful 7-day trip on Carnival Magic out of Galveston to Cozumel, Belize and Roatan. Met some wonderful people, enjoyed great times on the ship including a super fun Halloween night costume contest/dance party, visited beautiful beaches, climbed Mayan ruins, ate some yummy local food and purchased a beautiful hand carved pendant from a Conch shell. My favorite was Roatan... and I have a great local tour guide to help customize your visit on the island.

Good news that the city and resorts are coming back to life! :-)
Local citizens however need our help to get the community back to normal. Please travel to the region as soon as they are ready as most of their income comes from tourism. From what I have read many of the resorts are actually remodeling and updating their properties while doing the repairs needed after the hurricane... good for us! :-)

Telephone, Internet and potable water have been fully restored in Cabo San Lucas, and electricity, currently reaching about 35% of the resort town, is on schedule to be 95% restored toward the end of next week, Mexico Tourism Board CEO Rodolfo Lopez-Negrete said.

Keep fingers crossed this next treat to the region continues to go out to sea!

Some limited cellular phone service has returned to Los Cabos. Be advised that due to widespread power outages, people may still be unable to charge their phones. Furthermore, CNN (en Español) reports that Telmex crews have proceeded with repairs to the landline phone network, however due to issues with poles and wiring down in certain areas, many households remain without service.

Humanitarian aid and military provisions continue to stream into Los Cabos in order to provide basic resources like food and water and stability to the hurricane-affected populace.

After a wonderful trip to Cabo I am reluctant to post photos due to the incredible loss the town and it's residents are dealing with right now after the hurricane hit them dead on Sunday. I left Saturday.

I send my prayers to all who are stranded there, and to those that live and work there who make the city such a wonderful place to visit.

I sent emails to my management contacts at resorts there on Sunday evening and NONE have responded. I am sure they are focused on keeping people safe. If I hear anything, I will share. Here is the latest update from a few travel related publications about the status of some hotels, the infrastructure and airport.

The city will rebound... and when they open it up to tourist again we need to KEEP visiting to make sure our dollars are spent there to help rebuild the community and the lives of it's people.

I am excited to be traveling to Los Cabos, Mexico next week (Sept 6 - 13) on a Travel Agent familiarization trip. I will be staying at two different resorts, and visiting several others, as well as taking a few tours to explore the area and activities. There is nothing like experiencing it first hand to better serve my customers.
Photos and reviews to follow... stay tuned! :-)
