Happy Halloween/Samhain! Samhain or Sauin is a Gaelic festival/holiday marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year. Our modern Halloween in the States can seem a little commercial these days, but there was a time when, for some, this night was filled with dread and fear. Some of the old Celtic tales tell of the way that, at Samhain, the veil between the world is at its thinnest. To quote the Samhain Eve song by Damh the Bard -

We know our Haunted Walks in town are already sold out for the season BUT we are excited to offer a new event in town! Join me on Saturday, October 8th as I present 'Speakeasy Spirits" in the new SULLY'S SPEAKEASY located one level up above the Barrel Room on Canal in Canal Fulton, Ohio. Age 21 and over, prohibition era cocktails will be available for purchase in our Speakeasy room during the presentation. I will be speaking on prohibition, Irish superstitions/folklore (the canal workers were mostly Scots Irish) the buildings history and ghost stories as well. We will have access to a room not seen by the public and you will find out some of its darker history.
