MINISTRY MEMOIRS
October, 2015
At our ministry headquarters, I have been swamped by many requests for assistance (some desperate). Most often the request is for finances. These pleas come from various sources in many areas of the world. Usually, my first chore is to determine if the request is legitimate or another scam. Some are easier to determine than others. I must verify the need before taking action. Because we are limited financially, I've had to limit sharply almost all activity that requires money to support. Too often I am forced to respond, “I'm sorry, but we cannot take on any more at this time. It may sound trite, but I do pray for those in need.”
Invariably, there comes to mind the words in Jas 2:15-16 : “ If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?” and Jas_2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. “ I also remember the words of our Lord, "The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. " - Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2 The “harvest” involves evangelism AND benevolent acts.
All nations have been challenged by acts of nature (drought, floods, storms, etc) and corruption in government and society in general. Developed nations, have risen to the occasion and have overcome many obstacles by making appropriate adjustments, and usually thrive (comparatively speaking) in times of worldwide desperation and poverty. We cannot, with a clear conscience, ignore the cries of the needy.
Everyone experiences the overabundance of rain at various times during the year. Many see the devastation and heartache, while others see “blessings in disguise” (water for food crops, etc). It is difficult to see the blessings in disguise if the area is inundated with literal floods of water and floods of corruption and apathy. The problems - challenges are everywhere. Some see the glass is "half empty", while others see the glass is "half-full".
Some of my Christian brothers and sisters have criticized me because I make known the need. (They call it “begging” for money.) I've been told that I need to “exercise my faith” like certain others in history who never sent formal requests, but always received ample supplies for the ministry. I LOOK AT THE OCCASION AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO INVITE OTHERS TO SHARE IN THE BLESINGS OF OUR LORD: Luke 6:38 “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. “ There also comes to mind the warning at the end of the parable about managing money. (The story begins in Luke 19:12.): Luke 19:26 “For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. “ Our Lord expects all of us to be wise stewards.

Associate Manager - Azarias Nelson Kibaya (FB friend since 09/11)
Our long-term goal for Agape Children’s Village is to get them back on their own two feet. We want the orphanage to be self-sustaining. With the help of generous donors, we have brought several sewing machines to ACV, so that the mothers can begin selling clothing and other sewn goods. Also, the James family will help teach the mothers and children other trades, like gardening and raising animals. They will teach them how to be wise with the money and resources that God gives to them. Not only will they be able to sell foods and meat, but they will be able to live off of their own crops and animals. This will save the orphanage a lot of money in the long run. Ultimately, we want ACV to be able to function well and survive on its own. We are honored to be used by God to help this orphanage, but we do not want to become a permanent crutch that keeps them from learning basic survival skills. We want the children to be equipped for the world as they grow up and go out. Our vision is to equip ACV to be all that God wants them to be.

Pastor Haokip writes: "This is an invitation to you to get along with us to become members of our Ministries in reaching the least reached people groups and the poor illiterate tribes living in India and some part parts of Asia. For you are valued by the Lord and He has a purpose for you. He’s placed within you special gifts, He longs for you to use. And I know the Ministry family would love to see you grow within your gifts, for then we all can receive a blessing with what God's blessed you with. As you get along and tour this website you would see who the people groups are and who the poor illiterate tribes are. They need your love and prayers."
Pastor Haokip, in partnership with his friend, is active daily in our LORD's ministry that has been entrusted into his hands at the vineyard in north-eastern India. He “blooms where he is planted”. Often I discover him at work in his hometown or in another village. He may be found in the street, in the home of an individual, at a hospital or on the road. Even at his home, he and his dear friend provide food and shelter to a traveler who is in need.
