It has been a tough few weeks around Sarasota but the town is resilient and lots of businesses are open again. Fighting 2 hurricanes certainly didn't help the boating industry. Brian and I want to help get the team back on the water ASAP!

Bookings are coming back for November and beyond but we would love to get our crew on the water over the next few days.

🌊🌀 Safe Arrival in the Keys - Hurricane Milton Update 🌀🌊

Day two of our journey is complete, and we’ve safely made it to Marathon in the Keys! We departed Marco Island early this morning at 7:00 AM, heading straight into challenging weather with rain just 20 minutes into our trip. Despite the rough conditions, we powered through, and as we neared Marathon, our speed picked up to 26-27 knots. Finally, 5 miles out, the skies cleared, and we were filled with relief as we approached our destination.
All boats, including 'Memory Maker', 'Memories Not Dreams,' and 'Giddy Up' are now docked safely at Faro Blanco, and storm plans are in place to ensure everything is secure.

We are incredibly thankful for the thoughts, prayers, and support we’ve received throughout this journey.

With Hurricane Milton approaching, we remain vigilant, but we’re grateful to be here safely and ready to weather whatever comes next.

🌊🌀 Running to the Keys - Hurricane Milton Update 🌀🌊

Day one of our journey to Marathon and the Keys is in the books, and it’s been quite an adventure! We departed Sarasota at 6:00 AM, braving rain, 20 mph winds, and seas ranging from 2-5 feet. After a long day, we made a necessary stop in Naples for refueling at the Yacht Club and then headed to Marco Island to rest for the night.
The Gulf of Mexico gave us some calm moments. With stabilizers on for the rougher parts, we managed to capture some incredible moments despite the stormy conditions.

Tomorrow, we’re up early for another 7-hour leg to Marathon, and we're looking forward to continuing this journey. Stay tuned for the next adventure as we navigate through the elements and make our way through the Keys!

🌀🌊 Braving Hurricane Milton - Evacuation to Key West 🌊🌀

As Hurricane Milton approaches, our team is taking swift action to ensure safety. At 6:00 AM, we began our journey, leading all our boats through Big Pass on the way to Key West. The sea was "angry" and "choppy," but with safety as our top priority, we pushed forward.
While cruising through the rough waters, we're reminded of the power of nature and the importance of being prepared. It’s not an easy journey, but our team’s resilience and quick action are keeping us safe as we navigate this evacuation.

Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Milton. As we face this storm together, let’s support one another and stay safe. We’ll be back on the water, ready for new adventures once the storm passes.
Together, we’ll weather any storm. 🌊

We have decided to move our larger vessels out of the cone of Hurricane Milton. We left Sarasota very early for the keys. We hope everyone stays safe.

🌀🌪 Weathering the Storm - Hurricane Helene 🌪🌀

As Hurricane Helene approached Sarasota, the impact on our beautiful community was undeniable. From surging waters that flooded downtown to power outages affecting local towers and hotels, the storm has left a lasting mark on our area. We witnessed the strength of the storm firsthand as it breached seawalls, leaving homes and boats vulnerable.

But as we move forward into the fall, we are reminded of the resilience of Sarasota and its people. At Kokomo Charters, our hearts go out to all those affected, especially in the hardest-hit areas. We’ve worked hard to ensure our fleet is safe and ready to welcome you back when you're ready for your next adventure.
Though the storm has passed, the work of rebuilding continues. We encourage everyone to come together—whether through lending a hand or donating to relief efforts. Every small act of kindness helps our community recover.
