We are now back in the homestead from our extraordinary travels in South Africa. It takes a few days to acclimate from the plane ride to just your familiar surroundings. It was a pleasure to travel with the group that we did. The memories and pictures will definately be treasured. Alas, today is Sunday. We leave South Africa today for home but we did get in a sail around Capetown. It was a crisp but beautiful ride. Never underestimate the Irish finding a pub anywhere they go!

One of our favorite night's in South Africa is an evening at Gold's Restaurant. A 14 course taste of the foods, and the immersion into the entertainment so very indigenous to Africa.

Gorgeous, beautiful Capetown! From Table Rock Mountain, to a beach inhabited with penguins, yes South Africa is home to penguins. The vistas are so expansive and the weather has been crystal clear and sparkly. Look what we saw - a gorgeous rainbow. It is our last weekend here.

As our last day of the safari culminated in a delicious dinner, and sharing stories, it was time to pack up and head to South Africa's vineyards. The warm, dry sunshine is perfect for a world class vineyard, and South Africa is abundant in its wines. Dining outside is a must with, you guessed it, wine! We are clinking our glasses to perfect day in South Africa.

Day 3 of our safari adventure. We had a few requests for our pictures and we thank you thet are lovely. As we have noted, spring is for the frolicking fun of a few well attended calfs. They are so cute. Water is abundant right now due to the spring rains. A gathering of the clan and just a couple lazing in the cool waters.

Day 2 at the Karongwe game reserve, and the excitement is just how close we get the citizens here. In the daylight hours we are treated to the slumbering big cats, the lion. They are just as relaxed as you are. They are gorgeous, aren't they. The other element to any safari is the surprise sightings. Remember we are the visitors. Those two peeking out of the water are just as curious as you are. As always, a delicious meal al fresco in this beautiful environment captures the moment.

Our first day of a 4 day safari at the Karongwe Private Game Reserve did not disappoint. Here the natives, you are the visitors, are relaxed and protected in this gorgeous park. In South Africa it is spring and many of the animals have young offspring to care for, we look forward to meeting them.

In all that we discover in South Africa, the most anticipated is the safari. We took off this morning to meet our coach for the Karongwe Private Game Reserve. A new chapter of stories will be coming,

It was a bit of a delay but we have arrived in South Africa, checked into our hotel and gathered for a dinner and a restful nights sleep. Today we visit one of the most important social and cultural landmarks in South Africa - The Apartheid Museum and the legacy of Nelson Mandela. This is a must visit to everyone who visits South Africa. Just look at this beautiful, sunny weather. It's perfect.

Hoolie a noun for an Irish party with music. Here is our Hoolie. It was fun. Watch the squire in the white shirt. He is really good.

Irish music and dance is a treat to see in the native land. Your toes tap, a pint raised in appreciation, and a lovely evening is at hand. On Sunday evening, after a lovely dinner in Galway, we headed to the LeisureLand Theatre for “Trad On The Prom”. "Ireland’s No 1 Irish Music, Song and Dance Experience with a Contemporary Kick! Get ready to tap your toes just watching the video.

When in Ireland, a dance is a must

We had a wonderful guided tour of Cobh. This seaport town is also known as the Titanic Trail as this was the last port the ship departed from before the fateful voyage. After a day of sites, it was time for a pint and some wonderful Irish music to dance to! Cheers

We may be back in the states but we have more to share. In countries of Spanish origin, it is customary for University students, fashioned in traditional dress to serenade and play instruments native to their origin. They are called TUNA. All of our performers were accounting students. They were wonderful!
