It was great hosting Gwynedd Mercy University for their preseason basketball tour in Costa Rica last month! It is the third time coach John Baron has traveled with his team to Costa Rica and we were excited to have him back. The team played three competitive matches, rafted the white waters of the Pacuare River, hiked the waterfalls, zipped through the rainforest in the zip-line and did a community service project with an inner city underprivileged elementary school. Washington and Lee Men’s Basketball team just finished up their preseason tour to Costa Rica. They visited San Jose City, the rainforest, waterfalls, hot springs, Arenal Volcano, and the beach. They also got to see turtles and dolphins on their catamaran tour near Tamarindo Beach! We wish you guys a good season ahead!
University of Dubuque Women's Basketball just wrapped up their preseason tour to Costa Rica during which they played three matches against the Costa Rican Women’s first division teams. They also explored Costa Rica together, go in lots of practices, learned about the culture, and visited the rainforest and the beaches! They also did a community service project at a low income elementary school in San Jose; they helped coordinate a basketball clinic for third graders there. Thanks for coming Dubuque! Wilmington College Women’s basketball is off to a great start here in Costa Rica with a 63-61 win over the U20 National team the night before last. Yesterday they arrived in the rainforest region where they soaked in the hot springs and today they did a hike to the 180- foot La Fortuna Waterfall.
