"The biggest reason I became a postpartum doula was because I needed one after my pregnancies. Doulas were scarce in Texas 14 years ago, particularly postpartum doulas. I didn’t even know that was a thing back then! But as soon as I found out about it, I instantly knew I wanted to help others who might struggle the way I had. The loneliness and insecurities you feel as a new mother can often feel like you are swimming in the ocean with no lifeboat in sight. I want to be that for other moms. I want them to know they are not alone, and that whatever their struggle may be, we can figure it out and carry it together. "

As a certified Elite ProDoula - The Leading Edge Certification Organization for Birth Workers postpartum and infant care doula and trainer, I’m passionate about equipping new and aspiring doulas with more than just newborn care skills. Our mission goes deeper: we train you to support entire families, because that’s where the lasting impact truly lies. Being a doula is about nurturing the family as a whole—creating stability, fostering connection, and helping new parents feel seen, supported, and empowered in their new roles.

Yes, we’ll cover the essentials of newborn care, feeding, and soothing techniques. But beyond that, our training emphasizes the importance of caring for parents’ emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing as they adjust to life with a newborn. This is the heart of what we do, and it’s what makes our work as doulas so meaningful. A confident, empowered family is what makes a difference in the long run, and that’s the true focus of this training.
