Jessy is an OG Magic Lamp Vacations Genie, and day after day she sets the standard for what our travel planners do. She is dedicated and determined when it comes to helping, advocating, and creating unforgettable vacations for her clients. We here at Magic Lamp Vacations hope you had a very Merry Christmas! Our Genies have been enjoying the holidays with their families and loved ones, but during this busy travel season, they have also continued to look after their clients and assist them with their holiday vacation needs.

For example, has clients that will be travelling to Walt Disney World in February. They want to have lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table, a notoriously difficult reservation to get. So as soon as their dining reservation booking window opened up, Derek got up at 6:00 AM and was able to secure this coveted lunch reservation for them. This is just one of the services you can depend on with a Travel Planning Genie by your side!

has been enjoying her own vacation, but she has continued to take online courses throughout this holiday season to sharpen her expertise in cruises and group travel and be even better suited to assist her clients.

New in 2025! The Disney Destiny! 🚢

Disney Destiny is an upcoming eighth cruise ship owned and operated by Disney Cruise Line, and will officially set sail on its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025.

This new cruise ship will feature a first-of-its-kind design theme to capture the legacies of beloved Disney stories and characters – and their dynamic dualities. Heroes and Villains! We're so excited for this!

And Marvel fans, you’re going to love what’s in store onboard the Disney Destiny. The ship will feature a large number of superhero-inspired touches – starting with the Grand Hall, the ship’s centerpiece. The theming will be inspired by Marvel Studios’ Black Panther films and featured will be a statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther and King of Wakanda himself!

We are BEYOND excited for Universal Epic Universe and it opens in just five months! To celebrate, lets take a deep-dive look at the five immersive lands that make up the park!

First up, Celestial Park! This will be the main hub for guests to take in all of Epic Universe and be the connection between Helios Grand Hotel and Epic Universe. It will feature celestial-themed attractions, dining, and entertainment such as the Stardust Racers, a dual-launch racing coaster, and Constellation Carousel, a carousel of stars that move forward, backward, and even in full 360-degree turns. 🌟

The next portal, Super Nintendo World, will feature three attractions: Yoshi's Adventure, an omnimover ride that takes guests on a gentle journey through various scenes inspired by Yoshi’s Island, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, an augmented reality experience that puts guests in the middle of Mario Kart races against characters from the franchise, and Donkey Kong Mine-Cart Madness, a roller coaster that features a unique design that simulates the experience of a mine cart adventure. Super Nintendo World will also offer its own unique dining opportunities with Nintendo themed foods!

As you venture through Dark Universe, you'll encounter Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, a cutting-edge dark ride that immerses guests in the depths of Frankenstein Manor's catacombs. Guests are then taken on a thrilling journey through the darkness as they evade The Wolf Man, The Brides of Dracula, The Mummy, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and more. On Curse of the Werewolf, a spinning family coaster inspired by “The Wolf Man,” guests venture into the forest – racing to escape the werewolves before they become one themselves! You'll also be able to meet monsters including Frankenstein’s Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein. 💀

In the Ministry of Magic, the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter addition, guests can immerse themselves in an authentic theater experience at the heart of the area with Le Cirque Arcanus. ✨The performance includes live actors, aerialists, puppetry, and special effects. In Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, visitors travel via Métro-Floo – a wizarding transit system – from magical Paris to the British Ministry of Magic for Dolores Umbridge's trial. Things take a turn when Umbridge tries to flee, leading guests to join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and the house-elf Higgledy in a thrilling chase. This adventure will take them through twists and turns, ups and downs, as they attempt to capture Umbridge while evading attacks from Death Eaters, creatures, and other obstacles along the way.

Last, but not least, is Isle of Berk! Here you can soar with dragons in a colorful world filled with Viking adventures based on the wildly popular How to Train Your Dragon film franchise. Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a multi-launch roller coaster simulating the thrilling experience of flying alongside dragons. Fyre Drill is a boat ride adventure that takes guests through the waters around Berk, encountering various dragon species and experiencing Viking lore. And The Untrainable Dragon is a live stage show that brings the stories of Berk’s dragons and their Viking trainers to life!

If you're anything like us, you like to eat at Walt Disney World and that can mean buying and using a Disney Dining Plan to pre-pay for your meals. 🍽Disney Dining Plans are an optional add-on to a Disney World Vacation Package. Because they're pre-purchased, all you have to do when you get to Disney World is head to a restaurant that accepts the Disney Dining Plan and you can use it!

There is a lot of misinformation out there about the Dining Plans though. Here are 5 commonly heard lies and the truth:

🍗 "Dining Plans are available separately from vacation packages." - Nope. Dining plans can only be added to select packages that include a Disney Resort hotel stay.

🍗 "You can convert a quick service meal credit to three snack credits." - While this used to be true, this practice ended in 2024. Guests are required to use their snack credits and meal credits exclusively on those types of meals.

🍗 "You get two snack credits per night."- According to the Disney World website, inclusions for the Standard Disney Dining Plan are as follows: Everyone in the travel party will receive 1 Table-Service meal per night, 1 Quick-Service meal per night and 1 snack per night of their package stay, along with 1 Resort-refillable drink mug.

🍗 "You can't use the Dining Plans at lounges and bars." - For the first time, Disney World bars and lounges ARE accepting table service dining plan credits. In exchange for a table service credit, you’ll get an entree, drink, and dessert like you would at a table service spot. But, keep in mind that entree may be a smaller portion and there may not even be dessert on the menu, so choose your lounge wisely!

🍗 "If you use the Disney Dining Plan, you don't need to make reservations." - Important! This is NOT true! Many popular dining locations require reservations, so it's best to have our Travel Genies book ahead for you.

This week we're spotlighting our Lead Travel Genie, Laura!

Oh, Laura... what would we do without ? Laura has been a part of the team since the very beginning and she is our rock! As Company Manager, she brings her expertise and experience to the whole Genie team and encourages everyone to be the best travel advisors they can be.

Laura lived in Houston, Texas, with her husband and their three grown kids until they made a move to Tampa, Florida. She has a big love for Disney, so being closer to Walt Disney World was a bonus!

Her Disney love story began at age eight when she met Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. Her first Walt Disney World visit was during the 15th Anniversary Celebration, sparking countless trips with family and friends.

Now settled in Tampa, Laura and her husband make monthly pilgrimages to Walt Disney World for festivals, seasonal parties, and holiday celebrations. They also cruise regularly and travel as much as possible!

Laura's passion for travel, her clients, and her fellow Genies is evident. She consistently leads the team by example. She also gives 110% every single day to her clients, often working on her own vacations! We couldn't do it without her!

Our Magic Lamp Vacation Travel Genies never rest! They are always researching and learning so they have the knowledge they need to continuously create the perfect vacations for our clients.

For example, for several weeks now, our Travel Genies have been participating in training sessions with ALG Vacations, a fantastic tour operator that offers vacation packages at destinations around the world.
