Advocating for You, Your Business, & Your Community

Sportfishing has a multi-million dollar impact on the State of Alaska every year, and the charter and guide industry exist to help anglers access the open ocean, rivers, and fishery resources. In times of conservation concerns or political turmoil, the industry needs an advocate at the helm to press for reasonable rules which assure long-term access to fish. This requires a balance of sustainable catch to protect our fisheries and predictable regulations to sustain our businesses.

SEAGO works with operators, biologists, analysts, fisheries managers, and regulators to make this happen. We actively participate in local, regional, State, Federal, and International forums - with YOUR help! These forums include the working with local operator associations, the Alaska Legislature, the Alaska Board of Fisheries, the North Pacific Fishery Management Council, the International Pacific Halibut Commission, and the Pacific Salmon Commission.
