(CCT) is committed to the conservation of native and migratory birds and their habitats in the greater Caribbean region, specifically in Cuba and Puerto Rico, and including all islands within the Caribbean basin. The CCT’s regional scope includes the study of neo-tropical migrant bird species moving between North America and the greater Caribbean region, focu

Department of Treasury has provided a license for conducting bird conservation work in Cuba to the Caribbean Conservation Trust (CCT), a U.S. based organization committed to the conservation of endemic and migratory birds and their habitats in the greater Caribbean region. The primary objective of CCT is to enhance the ability of North American and Caribbean ornithologists, naturalists, conservation organizations, institutions, and local citizens to conduct research and initiate programs to help conserve the birds of the Caribbean and their habitats. CCT is dedicated to bird and habitat conservation through education and relationship building and to maintaining compliance with U.S. Treasury licensure for travel to Cuba.

We are resuming our long-running Cuba bird surveys and nature / culture programs after the covid hiatus. This will represent our 25th year offering such trips in Cuba, all legal for U.S. travelers. The first trip we are publicly promoting runs February 19 – 28, 2022, with an optional extra day and night in Havana (returning March 1st, 2022). We will announce additional trips as things begin to normalize in Cuba. The Cuban Government has begun an immunization program for the entire population ( approximately 11 million people). By mid-summer 2021 we expect substantial progress with immunizations.

We have additional trips scheduled with VENTURES BIRDING – March 4 – 13, and WINGS March 14 – 23, 2022. In addition, we have private trips booked for January through April 2022. This site will be updated accordingly as we add additional travel opportunities in the coming weeks.

We appreciate your patience as we here in the U.S. as well as in other parts of the world adjust to the new covid reality.
