My passion for travel started at a very young age. At age twelve, for one year, I lived in Poitiers, France, where I was truly immersed in the culture.

A very full week indeed as the first month back comes to a close. Crazy, frustrating, exciting, stressful, and all the emotions we could handle this past week, and we made it through. Even got our first full food shopping done, as we had the time, bought our washer/dryer combo for the new place and we continue to move forward through the many bumps in the road. I know it will get easier, but we each have so much and Rosa takes on so much, since she is the one on point for the remodel, the paperwork and everything in between. I love her so much for what she does and will be doing and appreciate everything that is being done, much of it out of her control and somehow, she does it. Anyway, a little review of the week past as we roll into August tomorrow!!! Thank you as always for your support of our very crazy and non-stop world happening now!!!
Wow on a lot of fronts!!! It is the end of July, and the temperatures continue to soar here, but that is nothing new. It hovers between 98 – 102 F (38 – 40 C). It is coming up on my first month...

It was two years ago today that I met my future mother-in-law in person for the first time!!! Rosa's momma is a wonderful lady who has welcomed me into the family!!! Grazie Mille momma!!!
24/07/2024
Chocolate and coffee, maybe not, music and family, for sure!!! It was a crazy past week and things get crazier as goes by. Mt. Etna may determine our next move!!! Learning more and more as my time here at home continues and the workers arrive tomorrow to hopefully take a chunk out of the work to be done on our new home. Poco, poco and everything is done at the right time!!! Enjoy and thank you as always for your support of our crazy little world here in Roma!!!
Did you know that Perugia is the Chocolate capital of Italy? It has, of course, has been owned by Nestle, a Swiss company and all that entails for decades. They even sell Starbucks products, through...

A few days away in Perugia. And a concert tonight, wow, so cool to see Steve Lukather and friends, TOTO. Back to Roma tomorrow!!!
Heat and humidity are the call of the week and the foreseeable future, and the rubbish on the streets of the Eternal City, at least in parts. I know this is everywhere in the western world it seems....

I guess I will stop using Get Your Guide, if this is in fact true that Get Your Guide won't change its rules or language against animal cruelty. I can't support a company that sells tours where animals are mistreated and abused.
New report says GetYourGuide continues to sell tours that involve excessive cruelty to animals around the world.

Crazy, wonderful first week, or part of one week home here in Rome as my life with Rosa continues moving forward, the Roman way, a bit slower, but steady, with some bumps in the road. Apparently, Rosa, momma and her sisters are a lot further ahead in the planning of our new home just upstairs from where we are now. In any case, the heat is hot, 102 today, oh sorry, 38+, but lots of water to be had, so no worries. Thank you for your support of our crazy little world!!!
Wow, I almost forgot to sit down and right now this past week’s musings and looked at my calendar and it was Wednesday already. I have been home almost a week and it is crazy to think, but really...

Tomorrow, tomorrow!!! Yes, the smile is from my time on the boat to see my puffins on Inner Farne Island, by tomorrow will bring me an even bigger smile, yes, tomorrow, I fly from London to Rome and I will be home where my heart is, with my wife Rosa for the first time in 2 1/2 months since we parted ways back in April. Thank you as always for your support!!! It is truly appreciated!!!
When last we were together, a week ago today, I was in transition between one event focused on Latin America and many meetings well worth it, so the WP can handle your travel to central and south...
26/06/2024
What a wonderful past few days meeting amazing potential and current partners in the neighborhood of Windsor at the Latin American Travel Association where I can arrange your next adventure to Latin America. Of course, I am not getting away from Europe, as I am on the island between countries, before heading home very soon. Thank you as always for your support for my business and Rosa and my crazy little world!!!
Sometimes I look back on what I wrote the week before, but since so much has happened since I last wrote, meaning the move of the worldly possessions, and all the back and forth, I am now a man...
20/06/2024
All my worldly possessions are now in the hands of the shipping company including the vehicle and I have flown back to Boston for one night in advance of my departure from the states tomorrow evening. All I have for now, are the clothes on my back, my mobile office and three bags full (small, medium and large) of stuff, ready to bring across the pond to start my new life. As I mentioned yesterday, one more detour now, before arriving home, and that is the UK from the 22nd when I arrive until the 4th of July when I arrive in Rome!!!
19/06/2024
As I post this, this evening, the tasks of the day have been accomplished. Up early, unloaded the storage unit, hitched the U-haul trailer, loaded it up, drove almost 300 miles, about 6 hours roughly, arrived in time for the U-haul to be unloaded at the shipping company, made it to the local U-haul, unhitched it, checked into my hotel and now dines at a diner in where else, New Jersey, the diner capital of the world, in Newark called Tops Diner, a local favorite. In any case, tomorrow, I say arrivederci to my vehicle in preparation for its crossing the pond some this year, and my flight back from Newark to Boston, a day before I say arrivederci!!! The rest are just details. Enjoy the offering for today and you as always for your support. I am getting extraordinarily excited now. It is very real!!!
“Leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again….”. Thank you, Peter, Paul and Mary, at least the version I knew, but written by John Denver. I was inundated with folk music....

Sometimes it is cool to share a picture or video again. It breaks up the routine which has been just that, since I returned from my last two domestic trips. Right now my focus is to reunite with this wonderful woman in my life and my departure from the states is near and my reconnecting with Rosa is 3 weeks away. Thank you as always for your support of our crazy little world getting closer to being together with still much to do in fits and starts!!
Come aboard Norwegian Cruise Line to Alaska and feel what it's like when you let the outside in. With 7 cruise ships sailing from 6 departure ports, including land and sea packages on our Alaska Cruisetours, there's something for everyone to enjoy!
05/06/2024
Reflection time on several fronts, both personal and business and the day of departure gets closer and closer. Also, remember that tomorrow is the 80th anniversary of D-Day, an event that changed history!!! Thank you to all that served then and now and thank you as always for your support of my special world now and to come with Rosa!!!
One month from now, I will be in the arms of my wife at long last as it has been since the middle of April, after I left Rome last. Another week has passed as I get closer and closer to saying...

So many things to do, and more excitement about how real this life change is becoming. Thank you as always for your support of our crazy little world.
Time is fleeting and 30 days from today, I depart the USA without a scheduled return. In between there is still much to do, but more of my decisions have been made. Also, there is never a straight...

Time gets ever closer, now that I have returned to the states for the last time before I depart for Europe for my permanent (in process) residency. More decisions have been made and the biggest was deciding about my things that are left to move, sell and dispose of. In the end, that decision became much easier today and now, I am on the initial descent before the final departure. In any case, my time in the Baltics was very nice, and look forward to sharing more adventures. Thank you so much as always.
I know when I wrote last it was greetings from Lithuania, and that was true, but I am back in the states and just returned Monday from my week there and now, my last round-trip European trip for the...
08/05/2024
The days get closer to my departure from America, but in between now and then, so much to do at all levels. Of course, travel is still part of the equation, even with the departure date so close and here in Lithuania, but also time to be the had in the other two Baltic States. All I know is that special date in the near future will be here soon and I expect to be prepared by that time. As always, thank you for your support of my amazing world with Rosa, and for the week, I am only an hour time difference away.
Greetings from Lithuania, yes, once again across the pond. This is a destination I have experienced once before, but this time, it is more business, given my time here will be spent in meetings with...

Always love to share the puffins!!!
Congratulations are once again in order to our friend and photographer Derrick Z. Jackson!
"Science journalist & photographer Derrick Jackson captures the beauty of puffins as he creates a visual record of the successful repopulation of the species along the coast of Maine."
And you can see Derrick's fantastic photography work here:
The last few days of Rosa and my honeymoon, which ended a month ago now, certainly was full of amazing experiences and people. For me, it was a wonderful two weeks and I know Rosa would have loved more down time and so later this year, I promised a beach experience somewhere, and she will decide, but Happy Global Travel Advisors Day and one day closer to my being back with the woman who makes my everyday, whether we are together in person or miles (kilometers) apart. I believe it is 64 days now until we are together. This week, was a very productive week and I feel that I am in a good spot before taking off again to the next adventure, to be shared later, but the days apart are getting shorter. Thank you as always and enjoy the array of pictures Rosa picked out from our time in Antalya.
Hey good afternoon and welcome to May. Here in New England, spring has finally sprung, or maybe it has not. The weather changes remind me of Minnesota, the many years I lived there. It is only in...

Time is flying and that is a good thing, but also a bad thing, as I feel that I have so much to do between now and when I close up shop (I mean housekeeping) here in America, (the shop will always be open to plan your travel adventures around the world, just from a different base, in fact less than two months, yet, it is 71 days and counting until I arrive back "home" with my beautiful bride in Rome, so it is truly a balancing act right now and one more trip to Europe and a couple of domestic trips in advance of saying arrivederci America. In the meantime, Rosa and I truly enjoyed our time in Cappadocia and definitely would recommend as part of an experience to Turkey. As always, thank you for your support of our crazy little world!!!
Another week has passed here back in the states and my desire to be back in Italy with Rosa grows ever stronger. When I left back on the 17th of April, I was already in countdown mode. We both knew...

🐧✨ Puffin Alert! ✨🐧
As April rolls on puffins are starting to come back home and those are our first ones back.
Did you know? The first puffins to arrive are often the sexually mature ones, returning home after seven months at sea! That's some serious dedication to their colony. 😮 From the southern tip of Greenland to the far reaches of the south and southeast, these feathered friends journey back to reunite with their puffin pals. 🌍
Let's give a warm welcome back to our puffin pals as they come "home" for real! 💙
🐧✨ Heimkoma!!✨🐧
Nú þega apríl er hálfnaður eru lundarnir farnar að sjást aftur.
Um miðjan apríl fara fyrstu lundarnir að sjást við landið en í byrjun maí eru þeir nánast allir komnir „heim“ fyrir alvöru. Það eru oftast kynþroska fuglar sem fyrstir koma, þá eru liðnir sjö mánuðir síðan þeir yfirgáfu „byggðina“ síðast. Allan þann tíma hefur fuglinn haldið sig á hafi úti langt fyrir sunnan og suðaustan land, einnig eru eldri fuglar við suðurodda Grænlands. 😮 🌍
Bjóðum lundavini okkar hjartanlega velkomna "heim"! 💙

Just arrived back in the states, and now the final preparations for the move Italy begin. Still so many moving parts, but the hardest thing for me is not the things I have to do, but the time in between seeing my wife!!! In any case, enjoy the musings for this week and as always, thank you for your support of our crazy little world!!! It is so worth every moment!!!
What can I say about this past week. It was crazy busy, getting ready for client arrivals, documents, invoicing, and general living in Rome, but tying up loose ends here. We had taken an apartment in...
It has been a crazy week as my life with Rosa gets closer and closer to becoming a permanent resident of Italy, with any luck by summertime. At least the wheels are turning, albeit slowly as we did...

Back "home" in Rome from a quick trip in London on business and news ideas to share for future travels. In any case, a little sharing of part two of our honeymoon in Turkey with experiences in Gallipoli and Troy. Sorry the horse was out to pasture. These parts of Turkey are not as visited as others, so the crowds were not there, but it was not high season in any case. As always, thank you for your support of our crazy little world as we move forward!!!

Does this remind you of anyone? Actually, a good colleague of mine, Alina from Russia, of all places, thought there was a similarity and thought of the idea. Leave a comment if you agree and check out the full video on YouTube, if you have not already!!!

Our Story
My passion for travel started at a very young age. At age twelve, I lived in Poitiers, France for one year. I have since crossed the pond many times spending considerable time in over 45 European countries and having traveled to almost 80 in the world. I have also had the chance to cross the Pacific to places such as China, Thailand, Hong Kong and Singapore (and crossed over into Malaysia) and most recently, I was in Argentina, in places like Patagonia, Iguassu Falls (and across to the Brazilian side), and of course, time in and around Buenos Aires and the Pampas.
I can arrange your Asian, South American, African adventures (been to Kenya and Morocco), as well as many other parts of the world, including Israel and Jordan. I have many local contacts in most countries in the world with whom I work to give unique and more specialized experiences for my valued clients and they will know that they will be taken care of by a local who is passionate about their home and handle my clients with a white glove treatment since they are there on the ground in the amazing destinations. I also handle domestic travel and have personally been to all 50 states, more than once and beyond, with the exception of Hawaii, only once, but that too will change. Again, having the right partners and I do, is paramount here in the states and internationally.
In an effort to further my experiences and education, I try to travel in Europe several times a year (until this year, due to Covid - 19), revisiting many of the destinations I arrange, but also trying to new adventures and new locations in the European countries I have visited before, with most recently, Sicily, Malta, Poland and the Lapland of Finland. In a normal year, I attend several international and domestic travel trade shows and conferences to meet new travel partners and re-connect with existing trade partners to strengthen the relationships I have developed, so I can offer my valued clientele more individualized and unique experiences, even in the more common travel destinations.
Because I have traveled to many different places in many different countries around the world and domestically, I can bring a personal account to the travels I arrange for you and as an educator by training, bring more insight to the experience for my clients and explain the nuances of the destination or experience the client is about to embark on. If I do not know the answer or concern, I have the human resources around the world to address what is most important to my clients and I will find out the most current information. This way my clients can make the most informed and educated decisions and be a part of their travel planning process.
I have over 23 years of professional travel planning experience in the travel industry, including owning my own agency now in its 13th year. As noted, I have participated in many destination training programs related to the destinations I sell, both in the United States and abroad. This has allowed me to develop relationships and have access to many resources so that I am able to provide you the best value and expertise for your next travel adventure.
I have been privileged to earn the trust of clients from all over the country as well as Canada and Australia, and the occasional traveler from overseas wanting to come stateside, so distance is not a problem in putting together your next travel adventure. I am not limited to certain service providers, so if there is something special or unique you want to enhance your adventure, let me know and I will seek it out. I believe that everyone’s travel adventure and their motivation or reason for travel is unique to them, so I want to know what that is and will do my very best to find the right options. I know that I can I can put together a customized travel adventure that is as unique as you are.
I am able to provide references from clients who have used my services in the Twin Cities area and the rest of the country over the past 23 years. I am a member of the local Better Business Bureau of Minnesota/North Dakota, so please check out my reviews there, on Facebook and on my website, www.wanderingpuffin.com and the social media I have done to share my experiences, I have had with my colleagues and friends, most of them, in my YouTube videos with more to come. I am on Twitter, Instagram, and have my own YouTube channel, so please feel free to subscribe to see what has been done so far and more to come. I have also been a part of travel professional panels and been interviewed by Richard D’Ambrosio from Travel Unites Us and Tom Barnard from the radio station KQRS on his podcast.
As a travel professional, I pride myself in giving each and every client the time they deserve to make sure that their expectations are exceeded. I will be there through the whole process from the initial conversation to the follow up at the end to address all questions and concerns. I am also an American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) Verified Travel Advisor which in order to attain, one must fulfill many requirements, including trainings and testings, and also maintaining professionalism, integrity and honesty in handling the client and supplier relationships now and into the future.
Please contact me by phone, email or text, Skype or we can set up a WhatsApp, Zoom or Google Duo video conference call, so we can discuss your adventure if you are in the Twin Cities area and certainly an in person meeting when it is safe to do so and you are comfortable doing so. Of course, if you are outside the metro area in which I am located and many of my clients are, I am happy to set up a meeting through any of the social media sources or on the phone as well. It also happens that sometimes in my travels, I have met my clients all around the country and even some internationally, so you never know where the Wandering Puffin is going to be in any normal year and we can only hope that later this year and into the future, we will be able to spread our wings again and the Wandering Puffin wants to be there to be your professional travel advisor for the long term.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to introduce myself.
