Leaving after a great week of surfing in Nicaragua with my son and his friend. Next stop: Mexico City for 4 days before returning to Cabo !

Currently at home in Mexico enjoying the relatively cool winter weather. Leaving tomorrow for my much colder home in Colorado. And then heading directly to the mountains to ski, provided we can get there. Maybe I should stay here and surf more instead! 🥶

I don’t get it? Tide is super high (although we do have a good swell so there are still a few occasional good waves) yet there are 25 people out?? I’m waiting until mid morning when conditions look better, and hopefully all these people are tired from sitting out there so long!Surfers; always frothing !

I don’t know which is worse? Being there during a hurricane (yes, I’ve been there/done that and by myself I might add) or being here and worrying about friends who are stuck there 🙏 for Los Cabos. And next time you go on vacation, think about the locals, they will fare the worst in all of this

First the morning moon and a star, then the sunrise. Mother Nature is amazing. BUT 🙏 for those on Mainland Mexico who got hit with a Cat4 hurricane last night. Never in all my years here have I seen a hurricane make a complete change of course like that! It had been heading WNW and would bypass Cabo, but it took a 90° turn and headed towards mainland 🇲🇽

15 years ago or so, when I started surfing, I joined a club called Wahine Kai. I had no idea what they were all about, I was merely looking for other women to surf with so I figured I’d give it a try. Prior to this I had never joined a club in my life, not in HS or college, or at any other time in my life.
Today was our end of summer party at San O.
I can not adequately express what this club has brought to my life; surf sisters, travel buddies, empowering/supportive women, and best friends for life.
Thank you for the first 15 years, I look forward to the next 15! (And YES, I plan on surfing at 75).
